This forum uses IMG codes for pictures or you can click the photo image on the full reply tool bar just a few buttons to the left of the smilies button. Where it will ask for the URL of the picture, the alt text is optional. If the picture is not available what ever you put on that line will show up instead of the default broken picture. www.proboards.com/user-guide/posting/inserting-imagesI'm thinking most photo hosting sites may offer a ready link for IMG codes, so you can skip that step. I know Photobucket does. The hard part is showing the IMG code used as it will show up as a broken picture without, but I'll try. Remove the question marks and you have the code: [IMG?]put full image url here[/IMG?] Should look something like this: [IMG?]http://i698.photobucket.com/albums/vv348/yzenrider/Rock%20and%20Roll%20Hall%20of%20Fame%20Induction%20Ceremony%202014/RRHOF%20Museum/IMG_1319.jpg[/IMG?] Without the question marks the photo should post just fine. You can, of course, post the direct link as well. www.tackoftheday.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/TMIONMs.jpgHope this helps.

Just have to add, there isn't unlimited space for attaching pictures, but we'll cross that bridge as we get there.

That is very understandable, is there someway of setting an auto delete after say a week? I am sure no one posts pictures for long term reference.

There's ample room for now, as long as the file sizes are not too large and that is only for photos directly attached to the forum. As it is for now, I will delete at need and not expecting to anytime soon. No reason/need to set a time table or stop using the function. The attachments are best for when you are unable to upload to your normal photo hosting site, such as on a trip, at a concert, some festival you are excited to be at, like, say WOMAD, and such attach away. Hell, anytime you just can't wait to share a photo. That's what it's there for. I am not trying to discourage anyone from using the attachment function, only a heads up that there may come a time I need to do a little clean up to allow new pictures. BTW, so far I'm the worst offender for attached photos with large file sizes. Oh, adding, there is not limit, of course to photos linked from other places via the IMG coding.
