We bet the Grit Orchestra end up clashing with Bjork! For a moment I thought you were serious about Bjork playing too ...... Jeeeez that would have been too much, I may have had to consider risking divorce proceedings and miss the family wedding.......

I've just worked out how to reply to a message, I have been utilising the quick reply function previous
First mention to Hot 8 Brass Band. I saw that there were touring over the summer and after they had to pull out the other year due to ill health of one of the members glad to see them on the list. They definitely fall into the category of "dance like a loon at the front" . They are definitely a must see.
Don't think I've ever seen Baaba Maal so may put that to rights. Much to get excited about

The Grit Orchestra will be play some other dates too so SC you might get a second chance ;o)

This is the Sidestepped that we know and love, so we are looking forward to hearing the new lineup and their new album.

When the list came out, Ibrahim Maalouf stood out as the one I was most excited about. I'm not all that familiar with Grit - I've only heard bits of the original - so I will have to spend some time listening to it, and who knows I may be joining you down at the front (Siam Tent, I'd have thought). I've listened to the other acts and Aziza Brahmin, Sidestepper and Muzykansi are currently towards the top of my list. I like a bit of funk, but I'm not sure about an hour and a half of George Clinton ..... I'd have to see who else is playing at the same time. I'm beginning to worry about clashes already!

First draft; So far, and subject to the usual relistens and revisions: Grit Orchestra, Desert Slide, Aziza Brahmin, The East Pointers, Ethno Trio Troitsa, Baaba Maal. Ibrahim Maalouf stood out for me too; I can remember popping him on the "I'd like to see" list maybe a year a two back. There are a couple of the female artists who I'll ask H to listen to and add if he'd like to "must see". I'll keep an eye on Beanstew's posts for recommendations here as I think he and H have similar tastes voice wise. Worst clash imaginable for us would be Afro Celt and Grit. What would yours be?
