The Automotons gave me nightmares for years after. They were just window dummies, like you see on any high street, and then suddenly all come alive, their hands open at the wrist to reveal a gun to shoot any one in their way. That was the cleverness in the early Doctor Who's, some thing scary from items you might come across like window dummies, made it more real and credible. Guess that is why the weeping angels are so scary, statues you might see in any churchyard but what if they were living and you did not notice until it was too late... 😲

Oh, it was not the Doctor who made me feel safe, it was the Tardis. Whatever scrape they got in (or, we got in) knew we could always jump in the tardis and be safe (or Cree, which was the name for a safe area when you were playing tag, but that is another story). Always felt uneasy watching doctor who when the tardis was allowed to get violated. Perhaps there is a Freudian explanation to that one 🤔

Del visited a Doctor Who Exhibition when was kid and just see the costumes of the monsters was enough send him running from the room!!
Cal was literally on the edge of her seat for almost off of the last episode
