Liverpool's finest festival, free for fans of fantastic f-African fare. And everyone else. I'll be coming this year for the first time in three, will anyone else be sampling the delicious vibes (and curry goat) with me? This year's line-up is: - Akala (UK)
- Baloji (DR Congo)
- Bilan (Cabo Verde)
- Damily (Madagascar)
- Ifa Band (Tanzania)
- Mbongwana Star (DR Congo/Ireland)
- Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band (Ghana)
- Randy Valentine (Jamaica)
- Sona Jobarteh (Gambia)
- Welsi (Haiti/Canada)
S'all good!

I'm thinking that we might make it in 2017. Are there campsites in the vicinity?

Dunno Jax, the nearest likely camping place would be Crosby at a guess, but I may be wrong. Have a look here Mersey Campsites

Saturday weather and music a success. Sunday - constant rain from around 14.03. Sadly the posse gave up and left site at 16.30. Now drinking beer and cider at Hxn/McClelland gaffe, (minus Jim who's probably in a Liverpool pub).

Also scarpered by about 5pm on Sunday. Very much enjoyed Akala and Sona Jobarteh.
I believe 2017's Africa Oye will be its 25th anniversary, so should be a good one!
