she didn't bring any food to the nest when she returned from her earlier flight.. we don't knnow whether she met the male or had some other reason to flee the nest..

just been looking at the springwatch twitter site.........it is now apparent that the female sparrowhawk was chasing off a tawny owl when she left the nest last night - she was defending the two little chicks and the eggs... hurrah! |

That is sad news, Jax. At least it saves him from being the "stunt" man - he is better than that by far. Hope someone with good sense takes him somewhere he can shine with his knowledge and expertise and engaging tones.... that would be wonderful. Or maybe some time to pursue his own passions will be a blessing for him ...... wishing him all the very best whichever the way the wind blows..... |
