Exciting stuff Zenrider ย I have an similar style bike, they are "Adventure" style so are designed for mostly road use with a bit of easy off roading. ย Mine is the Triumph Tiger XRx, and my son and I are today looking at a 1992 Yamaha Tenere that he is thinking of buying, only 264 mile round trip ย In a little town called Beccles Suffolk. What bike are you thinking of? For now I'm thinking of just getting a Yamaha TW200. Mostly as I don't see myself doing any real touring on it. It's also quite affordable and gets good fuel mileage. Will handle the gravel roads to the barn better than a regular street bike. Can do some trails with it too. Eventually, because of seat height, I could see me maybe getting something like the BMW G 650 GS. The Tenere looks like a nice bike too. In the meantime, I'll probably just get a gasket kit for my '81 Honda CM400e. probably going to be a winter project. It's not really worth enough to sell, so why not? Maybe I'll even learn something.

The TW looks great fun Seat heat on an Adventure style is a nightmare, they seem to all be designed to only be riden by German Stormtroopers On my Tiger although I am 5 foot 10 inches tall, I still had the "Low Comfort seat" fitted to lower the seat height to 790mm, I can then have both feet flat of the ground and knees slightly bent. I don't understand the "tiptoe" thing My son has agreed to buy the Tenere and negotiated almost 25% off the asking price Travel back up with a van tomorrow to pick it up. Now figures crossed he passes his test

Congrats on the Tenere for your son. Just remind him to breath and the rest of the test will be a piece of cake. I find breathing very important. Yeah as a 5'6" and shrinking in the all too near future woman, finding bikes like that is extra tough. It helps I have fairly long legs for my height. Yamaha and Honda both have two other dual sports, but I kinda like the big fat tire. Might take it to the Silver Lake Dunes in Michigan sometime. OK, Guess I should buy it first.

Will see what happens. Going to stop at the Dealership tomorrow... Not sure if they were closed for the Holiday or just early... Hey I did have to finally do some yard work...

Those tyres do look pretty funky and on close examination of the seat height I can see the appeal. The more I think about it the more I think it would be a very comfortable and exciting ride Although this particular rider still seems to like the "tiptoe" approach and I am not convinced by their approach to protection Good luck at the Dealership

Yes, well.... er, if she sat closer to the tank she'd be able to get more of her feet on the ground. A good pair of boots wouldn't hurt either.

Didn't get there today, so will probably have to either work harder for the sale price or wait for it to go on sale again. or just change my mind again.

Ah Ha! Had figured it wouldn't be long before it was on sale again. Yep, figure it to be a fun bike, but definitely not a highway bike. So, maybe tomorrow I'll get my act together and spend some money.

Um, er, no. Nice luggage! Does that mean son passed his test? lol no, that's my bike ย I'm off to the Dolomites leaving on Saturday and return Sunday week, ย 5 days, Mon to Friday of heavenly Mountain Passes ย What can I say, trying to do something like that before work is far easier said than done. Figured the bagged bike was yours, but isn't that his 'new' bike behind it? Of course now I'm going to have to look up where you are going.
