Brilliant, Jax Over 12k have now signed; the 10k mark ensured the petition will get a parliamentary response. There is a House of Commons debate scheduled for 4.30pm on Wednesday 7th September which is in response to an Early Day Motion by Dr Paul Monaghan and will be covered on Parliament tv: services.parliament.uk/calendar/#!/calendar/Commons/WestminsterHall/2016/9/7/events.html 100k signatures on Simon King's petition will bring this to debate again - we won't go away....

The thing is they tried the cull up your way SS and despite it being done using a proper protocol they could not cull enough badgers in the area to make it effective, so why repeat the error? That's what research and testing is all about, validating the cull as an effective means of stopping TB, it proved otherwise.

Sandwell Council proudly put an announcement in the local paper that due to there successful Cull of 600 Canada Geese last year they will only have to Cull 300 this year - Which was a surprise to 156,000 households in Sandwell because no one was told they where doing it in the first place - They announced shorty after that they would be reconsidering there policy - Although there policy of feeding Geese ducks etc will still incure a £75 fine except in two of the parks where it is allowed - It has been pointed out to the Council that Geese ducks etc can fly.

Of course if we were American and Trump was elected this would not be a debate. " As president I have authorised the use of Napalm. But they live underground it wont work. well there will be nothing for them to come out for, it will be ash. Napalm worked on the commies in 'Nam. No it didn't mr President, well hell use it anyway. Sound familiar, we never learn do we.

....well hell, do it anyway..... rings so very true here, DT.
Lots of reading and debate on the environmental pages of the Guardian today and the Global Open data for Agriculture and Nutrition plan sounds, on the face of it, an excellent initiative to get to grips with global food needs. Unrestricted free condoms worldwide would help too.... why we're not there yet astounds me.
Chris Packham's tweets show there's a lot of scope for our species to improve in other ways...
