I find it all a bit distressing, those with a mindless focus that Brexit is good and we are now ‘free’.
You read the Twitter feed and it is shocking how many times the wire ‘slaves’ comes up, whether we are now free from being slaves, or remain slaves due to the NI agreement. These are people who I) do not understand the true nature and horror of slavery, and II) want to whitewash history by ignoring the UK involvement in the slave trade. I recommend the Empire podcast with William Dalrymple and Anita Anand, the recent episodes on Slavery.

It's insane that there are so many easily corrupted people in the USA, but they are in the rest of the world as well. A lot of gullible people do not realize that fascism will not work to their favor in the long run. |
