I've thought about doing this in the past, but well, I've gone and done it. Registered, ordered $50 of event merchandise and now need sponsors. I know most of you are across the pond, so... but if you want to see pictures of me in freezing cold water, you can help me have to do this. Meaning, if I don't raise a minimum of $200 I don't get to participate. Hmmm, maybe get me to $199.99. I did set a higher goal, which if I reach, great, if I exceed, even better. If I don't but reach the minimum, that's OK too. Anyway, so you can fully understand what I'm talking about: www.sochicagoevents.org/YMK

Zenrider I've always felt uncomfortable with these sponsored challenges... probably not as uncomfortable as the person taking the challenge... which makes me feel even more uncomfortable. Perhaps we could sponsor you not to do it?

Beef, I get it and certainly would never pressure anyone into participating or sponsoring. As it is, I have reached the minimum required to plunge, so.... Actually, the way they have the sponsorship page set up, I may have lost some sponsors that would have pledged $5 or $10, as it has the preferred pledges of $25/$50/$100/$200 overshadowing the option of 'Other' where people can donate a different amount of less, or I suppose more. I prefer these fundraiser activities to all the calendars and address labels that some charities use to 'guilt' people into donations. It doesn't, but thanks for the calendars and I will never have to buy address labels. This particular fundraiser will be a one time affair for me. May sponsor someone more local to me myself.

Been done, had fun, though I found out my tie die shirt really should have been washed a few more times before wear. Which means, look for the tie die shirt, who high fives the rescuer, before doing a little floating. Didn't seem that cold, but I have a little fever with this cold/flu bug I picked up at the end of the week... Guess it pays to go out with a rowdy group of people that brought their own people to video... I'm in video two, if you watch video 1, yes they are wearing sheep and Bo Peep costumes. You do not want to know what they were chanting.... Hey, Guyz, there are kids here...
