Forum seems exceptionally quiet - Doris blown everyone away? Pretty pleased with first announcement - a few familiar names but lots of exciting acts to discover too. No Eliza yet though :-(

As always, fantastic to see such a diverse global line up.
Some good news to digest in these rather troubling times

As always, fantastic to see such a diverse global line up. Some good news to digest in these rather troubling times Troubling yes DM but some great achievements. Labour and the people of Stoke have battled with UKIP and won, exactly at the the time UKIP HAD to win to survive. The Death of UKIP is now very very likely to happen, the world will be a better place for the death of UKIP and Labour can take rightful pride in killing it off.

I like your optimism, SC Sadly, if UKIP had fielded a less odious candidate we may have had a different result in Stoke. I am not a fan of Liverpool FC and am losing interest in football generally, but admire the solidarity of the people in Liverpool and how this came through following the awful tragedy of Hillsborough. I am sure that Stoke was a victory lost by Nuttall by making claims over losing friends at Hillsborough. Labour has much more to do and should not be complacent because it managed to see of UKIP in a single by-election.

I've posted a response to you in the "Chunter" thread so not to spoil this thread with politics

Many new names (to me) to get excited about. Good that the womad website has got the artist profile pages up so can check them out. So far, particularly looking forward to seeing bombino.

I've been wanting to see Alsarah for years now and never got the chance - they will be at the top of the bill for me!

Ladysmith Black Mambazo - I think the last time I saw them was Glastonbury, July 2004, Pyramid Stage. John Peel was standing with some other folks near me. Little did anyone know Peel would be dead by October. On a happier note, looking forward to July 2017 whatever the line-up brings.

We saw Ladysmith many years ago and we were disappointed. They seemed to be going through the motions....we didn't get the impression that they were enjoying the performance.

Yes saw them at Tunbridge Wells about hmmmm 6 years ago, maybe you saw them too Ollie? anyway they had already been replaced by sons and cousins etc, so it was not exactly seeing the real thing.
