It is looking a good line up, but must say it is a short list so expecting many more to come over the next month or so. Last years first announcement seemed bigger but perhaps a bit overwhelming, this is good to start focussing on a few performers. excited to see Emir Kusturica, as he produced the film Undergroun, which is one of my favourites, it even has a chimpanzee driving a tank! Lookin him up on on the internet throws up a lot of news stories...sadly, a lot of Fake news stories and not about his music and film making talents.

I will make it up as I go along again this year. I will have an inkling of a few acts I want to see, occasionally based on suggestions mentioned here ☺- PSB, Grit etc.
Will probably skip Mabon as they are playing Shrewsbury and can easily catch outside of Womad. I like them though.
Some Fado please.

Listening to Bombino, an excellent album and what you expect from a Saharan singer songwriter with full mastery of the guitar. Now tempted to get Maarja Nuut'a cd to chill out to.

we only know two of the artists from the latest
Benjamin Zephaniah, straight on the must see list
Bombino whom we saw at Celtic Connection a few years ago and although we enjoyed his so he goes on the like to see list (we'll we can have everyone on the must see list)

Blimey SC, if you carry on like that you'll have some serious clashes to contend with! Yes, "Blimey" sums it up perfectly.

Alsarah & the Nubatones - hurray! I asked for these on the Who would you like to see thread - yippeeeee! Yet to fully explore the artist list - Bombino was great a couple of years ago - especially the workshop. Benjamin - absolutely; Nile Project - I think so... will do my homework properly though and only pick a small number of absolutely must sees. H will have to pick out his too. There will be many reserves and many "not this time"s, simply because there's so much more to come. Great to feel as if we're on our way!

Another one - Maya Youssef (Syria). Wonderful qanun player. Pleased by the addition of Maya Youssef. I've seen her before and she's great. She's been on Late Junction too which is how I know of her. She's just tweeted about playing the festival.
