Jyotsna Srikanth (India/UK) - Carnatic violin. Not sure what guise she is in though, she dos traditional sets, jazzy sets, a thing with the Bollywood Brass Band, Nordic collabs etc...

Yes saw them at Tunbridge Wells about hmmmm 6 years ago, maybe you saw them too Ollie? anyway they had already been replaced by sons and cousins etc, so it was not exactly seeing the real thing. Surprised to see LBM on the artist list, they played the assembly rooms in Tunbridge Wells a few years ago, it's the sort of soulless venue artists play when they've given up any semblance of credibility, and I didn't go. The rest of the line up sound intriguing but frankly haven't heard of most of them!

I thought there was going to be another line-up announcement today. Absolutely nothing from the Womad pixies so it looks like I was wrong. Maybe I dreamt it up....

I had thought the second announcement would come on the Thursday after womad New Zealand. Then there was a message to say it would be Thursday next week. So, just have to wait another 7 days.

There are some up on the Wiltshire Times - found a link via twitter but can't cut and paste it to share so I won't spoil the surprises for everyone. Hopefully up on WOMAD site soon!

Goat are enormous fun live. And I adore Oumou Sangaré and Eliza Carthy so this is all good news. Orchestra Baobab are great too.

Some good stuff there. Definitely will see Eliza and Oumou Sangare. It was through seeing her that I discovered Fatou Diawara.
I'm hoping that SC doesn't have too many must sees on this list considering the previous announcement 😁😁.

It'll do for me, no lists but will ask Jim and Ph for daily recommendations.

Some good stuff lined up. A few familiar names but lots of others to look up. I'm particularly excited about seeing Goat! And Thursday evening should be a good start with Bixiga 70 and Orchestra Baobab.
