Just for those that are interested. It starts at 8PM Central Time, 9PM Eastern and Pacific, Not sure where Western Time fits in? I may have to record it, as they are having a beach party at the local dive this weekend and well I can't resist checking that out....  Attention!!!!!!!!! Time corrections! According to this trailer the times are 7 PM Central / 8 PM Eastern Ya know, the info I had was from HBO's site, so you may want to check your cable/satellite provider to be sure of when this starts tonight in your area. I'm sure it will re air, etc, but for those that want to watch or record tonight... |

I knew there would be a lot of editing, but disappointed they cut Peter's Digging in the Dirt totally out. They really rocked that out!
Good thing some people took time out of their moment to record not me this time, I only took short moments to take a few pictures here and there. Will have to work on uploading more from the night when I get a chance. Unless my computer totally crashes (getting the immanent death messages that my hard drive is failing...
Other then that, I found it interesting that they redid the order of presentations, cut out some of the funnier more in the moment stuff, like Hall and Oats poking fun at how long the E-Street Band's speeches were and that it was a good thing there were only two of them. Not to mention E-Street and Bruce took a larger cut of their performances and speeches that night then Peter. Well, OK not Bruce so much as the band...
Am glad they largely kept all the performances for Linda Ronstadt and Nirvana with the amazing women that performed that night.
Any other thoughts? Thoughts floating around Facebook Land?

 Haven't seen it apart from the odd photo and various comments whoch seemed more about in-fighting than anything. Award ceremonies aren't my thing I must admit-but glad you enjoyed it! |

Ya know, normally I'm not an awards ceremonies kinda person either, if any of my favorite musicians are never inducted I won't like them any less. As it was, since Peter was going to be there and I happened to be off that week... I'm really glad I went. It was quite and experience, though a lot of that has to do with the people being inducted that night. The only tension I noticed was with KISS and found it amusing. Gene Simons needs to get over himself and should consider it lucky to have been included in this class. More importantly should have performed for their fans. Then again, it was a nearly 5 and a half hour show without them performing, so perhaps not a bad thing. A lot was cut or shortened for the HBO special, like Peter's Digging In the Dirt and the E Street Band also played The River, Jungleland, and Kitty's Back. Or did they play some of Kitty's Back on the HBO special? I can't remember. Depending on the induction class I'd do it again. Especially if some other Lunatics were to show up again. It was a fun night and now I know how to plan a bit better should I be crazy enough to do it again.  |
