It seems Peter is entrenched in the Facebook model. I suppose it will at least give people the illusion of talking with Pete directly. I find using bots to impersonate oneself a bit creepy myself. petergabriel.com/news/connect-on-messenger/

Not sure when they dropped that... maybe with the end of Real World Notes in the early 2000s... Facebook? Faceless more like. What news has PG had for a long time anyway?

The most interesting news from Peter Gabriel is the lack of news.

Oh, you had my hopes up there Zenrider! Funny how he went suddenly from years of doing those monthly updates to nothing. I can't remember exactly when they stopped - the end of what seemed like a decade of Growing Up tours? Or was it that year of travelling with his family? Even though he didn't really have much news, I miss hearing from him now - but at least you keep the tradition going with your lunar updates!
Well, hopes of PG news totally dashed, but still hoping that you will soon be feeling better...take care

Sorry to get your hopes up Beef.
I'm not on Facebook, but through Peter's Facebook and other sites, I checked them out. It's almost like he's let a marketing firm take over his entire social media. Very little of the social justice fighter Peter. Oh sure, there's a glip about The Elder's, but from there it's all about you can still buy from these artists online and box sets and stuff.
Perhaps he decided after a year off, he really didn't care to reach out to fans anymore? I will always love his music. I have really enjoyed the people I've met, first at his website official forum, which caused me to create this forum in a hurry when it closed, which helped me meet some new really great WOMAD people, even if some of the other people chose not to stay and mingle. I miss his humor and playfulness of his videos and the hints that he did read the old forum from time to time. Though sometimes that would put a few people into a frenzy of 'look at me, look at me,' or some of the worst trolls come out, but it was still fun.
I wonder if Peter has lived in the world of wealth for so long, that he's forgotten how hard it is to be a regular person, with a regular paycheck, just doing what they/we can to get through this craziness without getting into debt? Certainly not thinking about 'What can I buy while I'm off?' Sheesh, trying to find cleaning wipes for work is hard enough. None of the main stores are shipping them, so it's something that will have to wait until I can leave the house again.
I do feel sad that Peter lied to us about an upcoming album. Oh, sure, perhaps one will come eventually, and perhaps a whole back catalogue to keep his heirs wealthy after his death(which hopefully won't be for many, many years), but he didn't have to lie about a new works album coming more immediately all those years. I started this forum Apr of 2014, he'd been promising a new works album for about 9 years I think at that point. Though perhaps, he really only promised new albums, not specifying new songs or old in new improved sets?
Anyway, back then, about a whole 6 years ago, he seemed to really care about engaging with his fans. Now, I just don't know. Maybe he just got tired of the whole thing and is happy having staff or even AI pretend to be him on social media so he can spend more time with his family.

I used to have the feeling that he enjoyed what he did (apart from finishing stuff... which made the apparent 'finish' all the harder to understand, especially as you said, with years of on/off promises of "new stuff"... that, and all the more recent raking through his back-catalogue left a bitter taste for me for quite a while - to the point that I didn't even want to listen to his music for a few years. Luckily I've got passed that now and can just shrug... but "sheesh", as you said...

Looking at his YouTube, it's been about 7 years since his last full moon update.

I'd still like to think when his youngest hits teens and wants to spend more time with friends than Dad, we might just start seeing Pete more again.
Of course, right now wouldn't be a good time for him to schedule a tour promoting a new album anyway. Next year, not much better. So, my prediction would be 2022 at the earliest.

You beat me to it. Then again, you do get up hours earlier than I do. His ears must have been burning. Met many a wonderful Lunartic at a couple of Scratch My Back concerts. Here's a quick link to Vimeo: And this one too:
