Good to know of the new London Victoria direct link to Charlton Park. I think I'll stick with what I've got booked already though - my National Express gets to Victoria just 10 mins before 1.00pm - really cutting it too fine to join the happy womad bus. And it cost just 45 for two returns from Leeds. Besides, I have yet to experience the notorious joys of the shuttle bus first hand.

Hmmmmmm... could really do with a 17.00 Andybus service from Chippenham Railway Station to Womad. I don't think I'll make the 6pm forum meet otherwise.....

Great news for some folks, hope it'll make their journey easier. Thanks for posting the info standing stone . I seem to remember that National Express used to run from a lot more towns when Womad was at Reading, although I used to be able to get a direct train in those days. There are certainly buses to Glastonbury from 75 UK locations - it's time that Womad realised that not everyone has access to a car or indeed coaches that only leave from London. Think of the harm all those cars are doing to the environment. I think I'll email Womad in August when they're not so busy suggesting they get their transport act together.

I can't help thinking it would be nice one year if they decided to charge people to park their cars on the site, and give us a free shuttle-bus service from the station instead of the other way around as it is now

I'm lucky enough to have a lift this year but I expect it's horrendous dragging your gear across the site.

I've asked Womad for a 17.00 Andybus on the Thursday. A coach direct from Leeds would be stonking next year..... remind me, PD - I'll ask for this in August too.

It's usually £5 each way. I keep a couple of fivers folded in my wallet just for that purpose (only on Womad weekend, not all the time!)

And how are you getting there from That London? My journey on Womad Thursday, by National Express (unless stated otherwise): 06.39 dep bus into Leeds Centre 07.02 arr Leeds Centre 07.45 dep Leeds Coach Station 12.50 arr That London Victoria Coach Station 14.00 dep That London Victoria Coach Station 16.20 arr Chippenham The Bridge *assuming perfect world* (walk from The Bridge to The Railway Station) *then resuming the assuming of a perfect world* 16.30 dep Chippenham Railway Station - Andybus 17.00 arr Womad - hurray!! Tent up and trot cheerfully to forum meet.. ..... but, more than likely in the real world 16.29 arr Chippenham The Bridge 17.30 dep Chippenham Railway Station - Andybus 18.00 arr Womad - @r$e - missed the forum meet! Conclusion - it would be lovely to have a 17.00 Andybus from Chippenham Railway Station to Womad on the Thursday. What are your plans for getting there this year?

Are you already booked for the That London to Chippenham leg of the journey? If not, trains from Victoria (changing at Paddington - bring your own bear) to Chippenham only take about an hour and three quarters. You could be at Chippenham by about 15:10 (or earlier if the Travel Gods are kind to you and you can get to Vic Rail Stn by 12:58) ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/VIC/CPM/270717/1300/dep/310717/1000/depAlso, regarding the Andybus, it might be scheduled for 16:30 etc, but it may not run at that time - it all depends on how well they are running. It could be late, which might also work in your favour I'll be on the bus/train/train/train/bus as usual! Hoping to get the 9.30ish bus from Sunny Buxton over the hill (with a view of Jodrell Bank in the distance, where will it be pointing??) to Macclesfield (about half an hour), then train from there at 10:15, arrive at Stoke (bring your own oatcakes!) 10:39, leave at 10:45 for Bristol, arrive 13:09, leave at 13:30 for Chippenham, arrive 13:54 and then get whichever Andybus arrives next ... all in theory of course

As much as I love Womad, £116.80 for a Paddington to Chippenham return for two is a lot of noodle money. I can happily do the bring your own bear bit though - Tiny Brown won't mind being squished up in a side pocket! I'll hope that Andybus is running late or a 17.00 one will be laid on. Looking forward to seeing you again - very impressed with your timetable - I think you are setting off and arriving earlier this year?

Sent a message to Andy Bus to check the price of the shuttle bus from Chippenham, and they say it is still £5 SS, if it's looking awkward about getting the shuttle bus on time, there is always a taxi option. I've heard a cost mentioned of around £20, but that was many years ago so it has probably gone up since then, and I may have remembered it wrong in any case. If it was still that much, it would only be a fiver more each for you, although that is still good noodle money

Thanks again
