I've just got so bored with it all. . . I've not listened to PG at all in a year or more. . . put So on this morning and it didn't change anything.. . . just wanted to skip most tracks. . .maybe just heard it all too many times over too many years combined with his recent(ish) sales strategy. . . just don't understand how any longstanding fans can have any enthusiasm anymore. . .

When he's on the radio. I find it interesting that WXRT has had Peter as their Friday featured artist twice this year, so am thinking he may actually getting closer to releasing something within the next year or So.

Well, maybe Zen. . . who knows? I got bored with holding my breath quite a while ago. . . I seem to remember that PG likes to hear our bated breath charging the air. . . .

I'm sorry to hear you have lost faith in the big, great man, Beef. I listen to PG all the time (I don't mean "all the time" literally, of course). But I really understand your point. Mr Gabriel can make Mr Dixon very, very frustrated sometimes.

Well, and there comes the rub. How long can you string out long time fans? On the other hand, he's offered more new stuff over the years then KISS ever has. Talk about the same ol', same ol'. I'm thinking people have bailed to facebook believing he's actually doing some or any of the posting under his name. One has to wonder how involved he really is? Since after his year of interesting things he never once posted a Full Moon update, I'm thinking he's perhaps not so interested anymore. I think the man who inducted him into the Hall of Fame may have been reading more of our posts then Peter, referring to even his reference as to how long it takes Peter to put out a new album. Beyond that, when I was younger I may have been more impatient as well. OK sometimes I still can be, but usually that has something to do with my work schedule. When Peter finally puts out that long awaited album I will listen. Am happy to have kept touch wit the few that are posting here, though the lurking seems to be fairly steady. Sadly, but not too sadly, the next time I cross the pond I will likely be staying up north, Aberdeen/Shetland Islands or I would definitely be up for a pub adventure elsewhere in the UK. No matter where our individual mental states are in regards to Peter I'm sure we will all be happy when he releases that long hinted at album...cd...download...whatever.

To be honest, I've probably not followed anyone else's music as closely, and so I am unaware or indifferent to other bands doing something similar. I know that PG doesn't have to release anything, do anything, be anything. . . but I feel he has somehow just let go of a rope that was keeping him attached to the real enthusiasm of real fans (and when I say real fans, I don't mean just deluxe box set collectors) . . I mean the people who used to populate his forum, watch his new moon updates before they were on Youtube (even if he really didn't have much to update) and generally were always keenly hanging onto the PG-spun thread of mythical "new stuff" (remember when he had 2 or 3 albums almost ready back in 2002?) . . . since then it's just been touring and poorly conceived, over priced box sets. . . I just can't listen without feeling bored, annoyed or sad, that a so-called musical innovator could end up just becoming his own tribute act.

Good points beef, good points. Holey Crap! he's become KISS. It was one thing to have an anniversary tour. Though much of the reason for it was mainstream had pretty much forgotten about him and needed a reminder. "Peter who?" It's another to just keeping having it. I like how you put it, become his own tribute band. To a certain degree it would have been better if the fall concerts had been in Mexico and South America, perhaps a few in Australia prior to finally releasing a new works album early next year. He likely has enough material for several albums as it is. His family will more likely then less likely be releasing new Peter Gabriel albums long after he departs the planet.
