As we head towards mid July I start to look at the long range weather forecast, to get an idea of what sort of weather we might expect this year at Womad. Will it be sunny and warm like last year , or cold and incredibly wet like the yerar before ? Whatever the weather, we will have a blooming great time, though a bit of warmth and sunshine does help, and it can be difficult trying to get around the site when slipping and sliding in mud! Well it is early days, but the Met Office long range forecast looks like this: UK Outlook for Monday 24 Jul 2017 to Monday 7 Aug 2017: Prolonged dry and warm spells may become more prevalent across much of the UK, perhaps continuing through early August, although northwestern areas are still likely to remain more changeable at first. There may also be spells of rain or scattered thundery showers at times in the south. Temperatures may be around average in the northwest, in contrast to some warmer spells elsewhere, particularly in the south and east. Doesn't sound bad!

Del is little bit worried about his knee if it wet and muddy so fingers crossed it's dry

The best Womad weather forecast comes out on the Monday 1st August. Even the most reliable weather source can change drastically the day before. After saying that, it is looking to be a dry weekend, not too sunny but dry (apart from the odd shower).

Three trains, the Chippenham bus p!us walking at either end mean that wellies are the biggest dilemma - heavy to carry and either useless or essential - as in 2015...

I'm hoping for *not too hot*. Here in Cambs we have had over 30 degrees on a lot of days recently, and I am wilting :-( Also I like a little bit of rain here and there to keep the dust down and the grass alive. Please keep that in mind when ordering the weather, Rendrags, thank you very much :-)

The forecast so far is looking good.warm, sunny, not much rain, if any. Seriously reminding me of 1976.

Del is little bit worried about his knee if it wet and muddy so fingers crossed it's dry And after my toenail op last week, I promised the podiatrist that if there is no chance of keeping the wound clean and dry then I would leave, so I too would like some decent weather please

At the moment Metcheck is telling me that Malmesbury weather will be 20 - 23 degrees with no rain apart from a sprinkle on Thursday. Currently making purple and white flags with my name on so you can all find my tent and hit me if I'm wrong, but please don't aim for my arthritic knees

Are you going to attend the late night Thursday cheese fest at Camp Womad PD? (See 'X marks the spot thread'.)

Not sure, I get so easily distracted by the other 10 or 12 folks I generally meet with at Womad. As well as having family to worry about, it can be exhausting trying to meet everyone, hence the flags with my name on the tent so you can all stop by and say hi when you're walking by.

I prefer the met office forecast: UK Outlook for Friday 28 Jul 2017 to Friday 11 Aug 2017: Prolonged dry and warm spells are likely to become more prevalent across much of the UK by the end of July, however there is a risk of some showers and perhaps some thunderstorms at times, especially in the south
