I prefer the met office forecast: UK Outlook for Friday 28 Jul 2017 to Friday 11 Aug 2017: Prolonged dry and warm spells are likely to become more prevalent across much of the UK by the end of July, however there is a risk of some showers and perhaps some thunderstorms at times, especially in the south Yep, checked that out too. I reckon if we all take waterproofs, wellies and thermal pants the sun will shine.

Oh jeez... weather at Womad 2015 was pretty awful... I didn't go but how was last year? The weather seemed better at Reading, or maybe that was just the 90s and 2000s up to 2006 - even if the rest of the summer was shit, Womad usually coincided with a few days of something hot & sunny... seems there's been less of that good luck since.

Wake up to wall to wall sunshine, a little cloud cover during the hottest part of day and then greeted by more sun. The pattern was remarkably similar every day. 2015 was indeed grim at times and 2013 and 2014 both indifferent. Wasn't there in 2012 but was pretty decent in 2011. The hottest one at Charlton Park was 2008 I think

beef I can only remember one rainy Womad at Reading.Who could ever forget the Year of the Mud, Womad Charlton Park 2007. Although it was awful I managed to have a good time - my knees were younger then! digitalmonkey, yeah 2008 was very hot indeed, I think I read somewhere that it reached 26 degrees.

Ideally, the showers should all be overnight, then sunshine all day, but with a few clouds and a very gentle breeze.....perfect!

Blimey, just looked at Metcheck which has got to be wrong. I might need that hug to keep warm if it isn't Fake news! I was looking at Metcheck's festival predictions which give 11 - 12 degrees. I think that must be wrong as the general weather forecast is warm with showers. As Jax said, hopefully the showers will be at night.

Jax2000, I order that every year. Temperature 23.5 please. 2015 was indeed the second worst in my memory, only surpassed by 2007. My first ever Womad in 1990 was boiling, but I was young enough to cope then, and thin enough to just wear a bikini top . Keeping fingers crossed for more sun than rain.

FFS has anyone clocked the forecast temperatures lately? It's predicted to be a real scorcher ranging from 25 to 34 degrees! I really hope Metcheck is wrong. Click here to see Phew What a Scorcher!

Looks like a forecast of hot and sunny weather in the extreme. Many will say that is what they want but need to be sensible! Drink plenty, use plenty of sun cream, drink plenty and wear a hat.
