Wht is the point of long range festival weather forecasts. For months we had forecast of wall to wall sunshine, albeit a bit overcast at times and greatest risk was to wear plenty of sun cream or get frazzled. Now as we get closer to the date and greater accuracy can be expected, there is increasingly more rain forecast over the weekend. At the moment does not look too bad, usual festival weather we expect and and cope with. Absolutely. I fall into the trap of looking at the long range weather forecast a few weeks before Womad, but I should know better as it always seems to change a lot before the few days preceding the Womad weekend. It's been a pretty soggy weekend here in SN16. Yesterday the temperature barely got above 14 degrees! Although the forecast is for a bit of a drier spell coming up, it's likely the ground will be quite soft on Thursday. I'm not a camper, but I guess that this will make it easier for hammering in those tent pegs! You are obviously a glass half full type. None of this gonna be muddy and damp rubbish, get yer tent pegs in and enjoy the weekend ๐

That's it, I have completely lost any remaining faith in forecasts... I checked the forecast for here this morning and it said cloud cover, maybe a few light showers. So now I'm sat in the front room, watching the river that the road seems to have turned into, hardly able to hear myself think cos of the noise of the cats and dogs throwing themselves out of the sky. Light shower?? Total drenching for anyone caught outside without full waterproofs. ...off to re-examine my heaps of stuff and add in more jumpers and waterproof things...<mumbling****light*showers*my*arse***>

Light showers here, but this is Suffolk's idea of rain. I forget how much wetter it is in the west side. Will come suitably wrapped in plastic! ๐ฌ

Hoping for clear skies at night as there will be some bright ISS passes and I like to encourage people to look up and wave! Data from the excellent Heavens Above tracker.

Agree with PD but we have still packed the wellies and waterproofs as insurance against rain!

Not sure wellies will be necessary but definitely going to be taking walking boots for the extra grip.
Here's hoping for no umbrellas. Hopefully people can bring a waterproof with a hood
