Good! I really don't want to pitch the tent in driving wind, dark skies and rain again a la 2007! βΊοΈ Still have bad dreams about that storm and battling with our tent, sitting out the storm with a part built tent and when it stopped discovering we were the only tent above water level and avoided the flood. We plan to get on site at noon but looking at the Met Office thats peak full on storm time so we may set of later unless the forecast changes. 2007 was my eldests first camping experience, we had a tree fall down in front of us in the gale , we drove on the wrong side of a dual carriageway and got stuck in a 5 mile jam to get in,THEN we put the Β£20 tent up. By Sunday morning 3/4 zips had failed we needed the RNLI. Attachment Deleted

Met Office have changed their minds again. Friday's heavy rain is now 1300h - 1600h. Showers the rest of the time apart from Thursday at 1300h, or when I'll be arriving, when there will be heavy rain. It's almost as if the weather here is really hard to predict so they just make it up.

On the pressure maps, Fri looks a bit challenging. Sat looks fine. Sun clearing by midday. Could be better but at least you are getting the shit weather out of the way first off. Please remember pressure systems do generally come from Canada so if it takes a bad turn their will always be a handy Canadian on hand at Womad who you are allowed to berate but of course if you have an SE16 ticket under the terms and conditions I think you are entitled to punch them in the face.

I blame Brexit, We've now lost our European Summers and gone and bought North American ones! ...... Are we sure this isn't Chlorine Rain? I'd say Seattle and parts of the Northwest. North America has a lot of different climates. Other than that blame Canada.

Did not think the weather was any worse in Derbyshire than it was in Wiltshire but in the news the Y Not Festival had to be cancelled on health and safety grounds. Their contingency plans involved 80 tonnes of wood chip. Seems like the organisers were totally disorganised, upset a lot of punters who missed the Sunday lineup and rely on insurers to sort out any refunds (wriggle out of more likely). Conditions were no where near as bad as in the past but at least Womad knows what it is doing and there was no increased risk to health and safety from the rain.

We spotted a tanker to clean toilets at Meadow Park North getting stuck in mud nearby on Sunday morning. Required two tractors to get it moving.
Not sure if further tankers made it onto site after that
