I agree with Full Moon , Officina Zoe were also my favourite band of the weekend . I also loved another Italian band , Vesevo who played Radio 3 stage on Sunday night . Many other highlights too , it was another good year and yes Lunartic you did hear right when Seun Kuti shouted " hello Swindon Town " . They are my team so it made me smile ! Thanks Avebury, I'm glad it wasn't just my hearing!

Did anyone see the chap wearing a lit up lampshade? Or the chap dressed as Tarzan? Yes to both. My fave moments were when my friend Nick got to play balafon with Mamadou Diabate, Lamomali set, seeing my grandchildren enjoying themselves, being with good friends, the food, Seun Kuti's tight pants, the fit hippy jogger guy who ran past my tent each morning, meeting some of you folks, Womad shopping, my friend Pete offering to pull both trolleys across the mud to and from campsite to car. I'll no doubt remember more when I'm not so knackered. Unfavourite moments were: new boots that constantly pinched both little toes, the mud, the rain, stalls that allowed you to queue for 20 minutes only to tell you what you wanted wasn't available yet, the litter left by scumbag lazy arses who have no thought for their neighbours or surroundings, people sitting on chairs in front of stages, selfish gits with umbrellas (WTF do they think a hood is for.another kind of smiley), the same selfish gits who stood near the front obscuring most of Afro Celts set with their bloody hats and f**king brollies, the security guard who tripped over my tent guy ropes ripping the tag from the tent and didn't apologise, the selfish neighbour who began drumming, dinging bells and emitting strange tribal whoops before 8am inviting all his mates to join in and not stopping until just before 8pm EVERY DAY. With regard to the last comment, to clarify I like drumming, but not constantly. At least the drumming at Reading stopped at 6am and didn't start until after the main arena closed.

Heading to the arena while trying to decide over Afro Celts or Seu Jorge and being pulled into Molly's Bar by an interesting sound and lots of dry space and catching Josephine and the Artizans who weren't on my radar at all but ending up as one of my highlights.
Waving at the ISS with forum pals.

Musically my favourites would have to be ACSS, but my unexpected gem was Simon Woods and the Mysterious Collective in Molly's Bar. I love the sound of the handpan drum and that's what led me there in the first place, but combined with two violinists, a kora player and a double bass, plus some awesome singing, the result was amazing and the crowd really appreciated the performance. Socially, Thursday night still makes me smile. The cheese, the port, the company, the laughter....and waving at the ISS with Beanstew.....what could be better. Let's do it all again next year....minus the rain!! x

Did anyone see the chap wearing a lit up lampshade? Or the chap dressed as Tarzan? Del and Deepishthought saw the lampshade man and the pair with lit up dragons (Del also met the lady who was the mother of the dragons and she has inspired him to greater things)

Had a quick squint at my programme and realised it's a first for me. 17 bands/acts at Womad, never happened before! I wasn't distracted by all those shiny things after all - much

Del has been reflecting on this year WOMAD as he had started to listen to the cds he bought at WOMAD
and while there was no BIG moment which blew his kilt off this years WOMAD was full of little moments which have been slowly growing on him
in a strange way it was a reminder that in life it sometimes the little things that are important
