Point Of order for me Ork Mendoza main stage Percussion intro nobody playing later in Elec guitar solo , elec guitar was on a Stand so acoustic guitar player pretends to play the riff, just to the right of the Drummer was a magic box each time drummer reached out pressed button away they go!!
We dont care how badly you do it , just do it Live.

That's pretty shocking. I OK with loop pedal if you're doing something solo and want more depth, but that many tricks in 1 performance is a bit off. If I was there I wouldn't have noticed as too short!

That's not miming, is it?
Loops are used by loads of artists, some make a virtue of it (such as Maarja Nuut), if you want classic guitar riffs that only come from a guitar, go back to the 70's.
Unnecessarily negative comment.

Unnecessarily negative comment. In responce to the above , maybe i did not make myself clear, the electric guitar was not being played by any body on the stage! but was miraculously coming out of the speakers the percussion was not being played by any body on the stage , i dont like being conned.

Guess pre recorded music is ok as long they are honest about it, to recreate what a smaller band is unable to recreate on stage what they can create in the studio. But to mime to it is out of order. If that is allowable, I will be next years main stage headliner, miming to led zeppelin, drummers of Burundi and Edith Piaf.

Perhaps not all their members could get visas? Then again, if that was the case, one would think they would mention it. More questionable would be if they were lip syncing and pretending to play the instruments to a recorded tract. Still, using recorded music excessively, well, that's more something you expect from a lounge act.

@globestyle, I think your comments are valid. You could always make your point on the Womad Facebook page or even tweet to them if you think it's worth doing so. Same as bloohair for me, too short and never near enough to the front of stage to notice
