The lights are prob the stage floodlights, about 15 x 500w pointing directly at the crowd; used for effect but useful in event of crowd problem eg a crowd collapse to be able to see whats going on. Does Not rule out the theory tho' as they are used for effect during daylight and show up on dull days. Very young audience, only one head of grey hair!

Bit of a bummer having to pay first installment immediately though, hope I've done it correctly as I did it on my phone. I'd rather speak to a person than doing this online TBH, although I buy most things online at least before there was a while before first installment was taken. I don't think my daughter can afford it this side of Xmas.

Ah, just checked on big PC screen and it says that the second installment isn't until April, but you still have to have a wacking big deposit for the first installment. Not fair to families who don't get paid until the end of the month Womad. Oh well, the universe will provide , first world problem so I'll shut up now! For those who foolishly attempted to purchase tickets via their small phone the installment details are here: INFORMATION ABOUT PAYMENT PLANS Please note the total ticket price will be divided into 4 equal instalments. PAYMENT DATES: Initial down payment due today. The 3 next instalments will be taken automatically on: 2nd Instalment - 1st April 3rd Instalment - 1st May Final Instalment - 1st June There is a no refund policy for this payment plan.

there should be enough early bird tickets for those who need to wait for the end of the month and we like the fact the rest of the payments are delayed until 2018

Big decisions here...now we have both taken early retirement, it's WOMAD or a week in France and we may have to do it alternate years.....so 2018 may be a WOMAD free year for us. Still agonising. Plus one daughter is getting married in 2018 and the other two are expecting summer babies so it's going to be a hectic and expensive year!

Hoping she's managed to sort something by now....the Bank of Nan often helps her out It's a shame though when families' budgets are so squeezed. Womad will be the 2 little ones only holiday, she can't afford a ticket for daddy too. Oh well, good old universe might step in eh? Glad you're all going to make it though. Big cyber hugs til July xxx

The email for advance early bird sale came out of the blue, although perhaps should have expected it as I am sure we got advanced privileges last year.
ยฃ35 for my guilty pleasure (la di dah loos) does seem pricey, has it gone up since last year? If I was pedantic about it, I would have kept a diary and then work out how much I was paying per visit (and depending on the nature of the visit ๐). Got to say though, just need one visit between acts in the main arena area to make the expense worth every penny.
Anyway, another happy bunny here to have my ticket all printed out squirrelled away ready for next July. ๐

Needless to say we are not buying SPA tickets this year

I am sure you will do the right thing, maybe do alternate years or perhaps work at WOMAD being a steward or something, I think you only work 8 hours per 24 payment is free tickets I believe. It could be worth a go
