2017 WOMAD won't go down as a classic so with that in mind I fancy trying something different or maybe Latitude again. Or on the other hand we could do WOMAD but spend a few days camping on the way down making a week of it and more of an event. All in the mix. My mate and missus are going to WOMAD Gran Canaria and Im sooooooooo jealous and its sure to get worse if Lamomali or IFE are on the bill. But Typical of the Spanish they haven't announced the acts yet. Sounds great Grey. The concept of fitting a festival into a week's holiday is appealing. I try to support local Arts Centres from time to time when I'm travelling the country I also do the Green Man festival at Glanusk. They do a settlers camp from the previous Monday to provide three days extra camping, the chance to enjoy the local village, local walks and attractions with music, bar, catering and other activities thrown in. Hoping to do this for the first time in 2018, a weeks holiday with a music festival thrown in.

We once did a Narrowboat holiday on the Monmouth/Breacon Canal. The Canal at one point was half way up the side of a hill and looked down into the valley where The Green Man Festival was performing. It looked so cool, we stayed overnight at the moorings there. A number of narrowboats were already there. It transpired most of the narrowboats had been been hired by festival goers who simply moored them up at the festival How cool A Narrowboat beats a Campervan anyday

At Womad Reading there were often people who'd hired narrowboats moored up. On a slightly different subject, that reminds me of the time in Reading when a handsome Gambian fella followed me whilst I was walking down the riverside gazing enviously at the posh folk on the narrowboats. Me being a lot younger and fairly naive, I sat down to talk and within a few minutes he was convinced that I was the one for him. I had to dodge him a couple of times after that because he kept asking for my phone number and address and became very persistent with his amourous advances. I wonder where he is now? I hope he found a willing female with a British passport and that they are now happy living somewhere in Blighty.

That picture above is odd, lots of people in it, but none of us!

They all look too clean and sparkly to have been at Womud 2017. I think they're actors pretending to be enjoying Womad, but....maybe they're the pixies and their families? I can see my meeting point in the background, good old Far East Noodle stall. Even when I'd had too many of whatever, I could still find it.

Far too squeaky clean for a womud crowd, certainly not taken on the Sunday night. Reckon it was the Thursday night crowd all scrubbed up ready for a long weekend of music and mud.

So who were they seeing, picture taken from the stage/ pit stage right, wheel in the background, main stage I think, just by looking at the size of FOH tower.

Lot of waterproof coats but everyone is dry and perfect hair, also very good lighting of the crowd. But the lighting is coming from above (note the direction of shadows from noses etc) and not from the stage. The quality of lighting looks natural, almost like it was from the sun. I recon it's a staged picture of people in festival clothing taken on a good sunny day perhaps out of doors, pretending to be at a wet evening gig, then photoshopped into a Womad nighttime scene.

Wow, SC looks like you are right. Did you use photo computer artificial intelligence like Harrison Ford in Blade Runner? Punters at the front rows look clearer and larger than those partially hidden behind. As if the background shot was taken from the stage and then a row of fans, taken from ground level photoshopped in afterwards. See your point on shadows, front row hats have quite a shadow under the brim whereas further back the lighting looks to be full face on. Never thought of Womad being guilty of fake news 🤓
