The joys of social media.
Just heard about Walthamstow Folk Festival on end of May. Interesting line up with a touch of world music thrown in. London School Bulgarian Choir and a kora player from Gambia. With the wonderful Lisa Knapp already booked, looks worth checking out.
Probably pretty low key at less than £30 a ticket.

Beth Orton has been announced as Sunday headliner at Purbeck
To quote Sebastian Vettel " Yes, Yes and Yes again!!"
Wasn't expecting that. Never seen her before so made my Wednesday evening 🙂

Finally I get a line up on Wood Festival which I'm attending in May and I've not got a scooby on who pretty much anyone is aside folkie Jackie Oates.
Got some Japanese rock band; 77-78 who are part of The Bees so they must be cool; William The Conqueror(!!!) and much else besides. Lots of discovering to be had☺

Sadly the Dent Beer and Music Festival is not happening this year partly due to unexpected death of the festival's Chairman😔
Not the first festival this happening to with Platform Festival in Pocklington skipping a year.
Other Festival news, Beverley Folk gone bust and the poor peeps who gave booked tickets won't be able to get a refund

In case anyone interested, the free African Music Festival is being held in Trafalgar Square Saturday 12pm to 6pm on Saturday October 27.
I forgot who posted last year - apologies - but think it was mentioned after the event. I made a mental note to myself to try to remember when we reached October to give it a mention.
Not been but very tempted
