I'm wondering whether there's a parting of the waves with B&W. Strange it should get to five weeks before Womad and there's this uncertainty.
This is taken from Womad's Facebook page. They appear to be avoiding answering the question....
It does look that way - no reassurance...... though Womad love keeping us all on tenterhooks!

B&W are usually later In Announcing their lineup with some guess work right up to when we arrive at Malmesbury. Guessing that was why the lineup was never printed in the full program but handed out as a supplement.

Apart from the question mark over B&W site (they are confirmed as being at woman 2018, aren’t they?) site all looks the same as last year. Cannot tell if there will be more space in front of the main stage or not (the main stage location does seem to underwhelm the headline acts). did avoid Womad water last year, nothing wrong with Frank in other years and we helped support a good locally based charity. Will consider womad water this year, at least it is in partnership with Oxfam. But will run a mile if they are selling water in disposable plastic bottles! I miss Frank. Womad Water was a real let down last year. The automatic water points were unreliable and frankly unhygienic, as you had to get the mouth of your bottle right up to the nozzle.....contact was difficult to avoid and so transfer of germs inevitable. I shall not be using them this year. 😕 Had forgotten the many comments about the dubious water quality posted after last year (who said it was coming out brown at some of the water points on the Friday?). Frank were also meticulous about hygiene when giving refills. Yes I miss frank and might avoid womad water again this year.

What I disliked most about Womad Water was that you had to have a Womad plastic bottle to trigger the water. I remember some kids trying to fill their own water bottles from the dispenser and failing. I used my water bottle to fill theirs. I hated the feeling that there was a class distinction to which water tap one can use. Womad of all people should promote good healthy clean water should be free to all.

worth keeping up with Frank Water even though they may be absent from Womad. Just seen they have launched a clothing, nice shirts which support the charity.

Have always used the standpipes for all water needs.... no prob if there's good drainage, otherwise you have to watch out for your feet.

I hadn't thought of that, Mikey. Maybe the 'subject to change in 2018' refers to a change in the stage location/orientation, rather than a change form B&W.
The final line-up annonucement is usually around four weeks before the festival weekend (last year it was 2nd July), with the full timetable revealed a couple of weeks later. So hopefully we shouldn't have to wait too long to find out what's happening!

I've messaged B&W with the following "Hi Guys, I'm looking forward to visiting your stage at Womad this year. The Womad site map states that your stage is "Subject to change in 2018", you are going to be there aren't you? Yours is the best stage of the festival!" Hopefully get a reply soon

I hoped this man would play at Womad but sadly Geoffrey Oryema passed away aged 65 on Friday. RIP, I loved his work.
