Ha ha! π Tits everywhere this afternoon - many bluetots cheeping "baby blue tot" over and over. Bull, green and gold finches galore, beautiful sunny day, iris, foxglove and clematis in profusion, honeysuckle starting to flower, buttercups and dasies doing well. Have kept feeders topped up - a joyful day. ππ

tots or tits there is a world of difference we get great tits in our garden but not may blue ones Ha ha! Deepishthought sent me a piccie of a blue tit fledgling in his new garden and maybe misspelled or maybe not, but captioned it "bluetot" - I just thought that fitted rather well for a tot of the blue tit world, and have adopted it just for blue tit fledglings. I'm tempted to suggest uv face paints........ I have suspected two pairs of bullfinches here - this morning there is the proof; two males and two females on the feeders at the same time - all four seen simultaneously now. Hurray! Amazed at the volume of sunflower seeds being scoffed - pleased I buy by the sack load!

Have caught up with this week's Springwatch progs. highlight for me - the Hen Harriers - such beauty and love in the making of the film - wonderful!
Must get to RSPB Old Moor to see those bitterns! Nice to see Yorkshire on the Springwatch map. St Aidans is somewher I've been a few times - I've watched that kestral hunting and seen the little owls perched in the drag line. Saltholme is another reserve which bought wildlife to an industrial landscape - just makes me happy to know there's hope once we stop doing the stuff we do to the planet.
Plastic - why are we still allowing plastic stalked cotton buds to be made? So much plastic we don't need. So much stuff we don't need. So much more to be done.
