Womad water was more successful this year in terms of the wrist bands and automatic dispensers, but the water was horribly warm from them, so we ended up just going to the stalls. 😊

In particular their hygiene was scrupulous. in the hot weather, all the water was warm unless the tap was run continuously for a few minutes, one tap was being run by an official while using a thermometer to bring it down to acceptable temperature.

Oh, I agree! Frank's was far superior, but I have a feeling that having walked away from them, they won't be back. 😕

I really didn't like this years wristbands - drab, "public", that awful inbuilt tag .... used to love the old wristbands and have kept them; shame this is going the way it is. FLAGS - GORGEOUS! Fine with the stand pipe water - no problems whatsoever. No wristband checkers on entrance to arena on Thurs / Fri - not sure whether good or bad, but generally speaking, access to and from arena seemed to flow a lot better this year. Tiny Tea Tent - been there years, I know, but I have only visited it this year - lots! The unofficial meeting place for forum folk fancying a cuppa and a natter - brilliant! I have to admit my appetite for festival food and shops has waned over recent years; probably because I'm just so used to it now. Wouldn't want to change it for more recent Womadders as their Womad magic will still be in full sparkle. Maybe it was the heat too, or starting the day with fab cheese and crackers for breakfast(really nice and will do next year too!), but I missed simple food later on. Seating - I got the impression that there was far less seating available around the arena this year. I left my chair and stool back at the camp and enjoyed not carrying them around, but would have loved to have had more opportunity to sit and eat the meals I had bought in the arena - tables and seats were full. More would be fab, please! Loos - ok, but not as well maintained in terms of loo roll and hand sanitiser as in previous years. This really matters. Also, there were single rows of loos in the campsite where there were two rows back to back last year which worked better. I liked the aeroplane loos which weren't there this year - can we have them back, please? Parade - I didn't see it myself, but have seen piccies - fabulous! Rubbish - arena kept spick and span - lovely - well done! Camp site probably best it could be given the damage to tents etc; some areas which campers could have been tidier, but maybe they will catch on for next year. It seemed to me there were more places to put recycling/rubbish which was handy. Adding the Lab to the Physics Pavillion - brilliant! Loved chatting to the people who run these - excellent having the opportunity to meet them at Womad. I had to uninstall the Womad App - got too big for my phone so reverted to my paper schedule. I did love the app though - fab. My feet didn't work so well - I developed blisters on both feet. Ok now though. New D&B Sound System - very happy that the same format/feel as B&W is being kept; love it and was so thrilled to meet Chris Watson and having the chance to lay down, close eyes and be transported with natural soundscapes is wonderful. More of this sort of thing! General line-up - just six of my must sees really were highlights for me, and that is only noticable because I usually come away with far more; a personal taste thing, which I think is on the back of now having heard so much in the past which has wowed me, s for each genre I hear now, unless it excites me more than previous artists, it doesn't do it for me so much. There goes the way of it, which is fine......still really enjoyed my six highlights, which I wouldn't have found at any other festival! Had a wonderful time - great camping in the Forum camp; still can't think of anything I'd rather do on the last weekend of July - brilliant just to be there........

The stages are now well positioned and I noticed no sound bleed from one stage interfering with other stages - well done Womad. I like the now lack of "straight" routes between stages, CG stage is no longer a road block - Well done Womad Ecotricity Stage - still a nightmare to watch if there is more than a few hundred in the audience, can't that be repositioned? Womad seemed a lot less crowded this year and the camping seemed more spacious, is attendance dropping? Womad Water - I still find this runs against Womad's ethics, no stand pipes this year in the arena, so no free water except in the camping areas. I find this so immoral, again this year I found myself filling other peoples water bottles and this year it was adults trying to fill up before seeing an act, they had no idea you had to "buy" water when in 30c temps. It is just wrong, water is a basic human right and must never be denied to anyone. If there is to be no choice, as was the case this year, whereby there was no free water in the Arena, then Womad should include water within the price of the ticket and have it free thereafter. Usual gripe - Blooming chairs during Leftfield! For goodness sake take your chairs back to the tents before the evening shows or sit on the parameters, it's incredibly selfish and potentially dangerous. For the last two or three years we have not been hit by any "Wow" new sound, seems to be churning out "same old" but by different artists. Perhaps that is more of an issue with Mrs SC and I rather than Womad. Cheese and Port Party excellent, keep it fresh please, new theme each year

There were definitely less loos about the camping areas. We (in the camper van field) had to walk much further to the nearest. 😔

Also, the container for emptying out camping loos was overflowing by Monday morning, so it should either have been emptied/replaced or an extra couple of containers should have been available. 😨💩

Not a huge problem as I just had "water filling" as a morning job, but it did seem a strange arrangement.

Hi forum nerds. You don’t mind being called that do we? I didn’t see many of you apart from Beanstew, or was it his double? Water. I just used ordinary tap water. It was ok and probably very similar to Womad water. Now improved by having multiple taps at each point. I found adequate outlets on the camp too by looking for the blue sign which were sometimes in the circular woods. Whilst on the H2O subject, I see the artistes are still using single use plastic bottles. Couldn’t they have a water dispenser onstage and be assigned a cup? Billy Bragg usually has a cuppa tea. Litter pickers. Great. Sad they should be necessary. Toilets good. My only problem is that being tall, there’s not much space the bend over to do a proper cleaning job or is that too much information? Bar staff lovely and smiley. I like the revised connection between the arboretum and the arena. Subtle but it worked. Pity the Ecotricity stage is so low/sight lines so poor when it’s crowded. What’s with these people who insist on keeping a chair erected in the middle of a heaving crowd. I had to tell a guy that it was dangerous. I think it must be something to do with territorialism. Hey ho. Off to do some songs at Lakes Folk Weekend Xx Oh and I forgot to mention the passing into history of the steam fair. Good or bad?

I didn't see any nor did the people I helped. Were they part of the water stands? Perhaps water signs could have been better placed. This is why I think they were an afterthought as I am sure there were no public water points in the arena on the Thursday. At every Womad point, by the fence there was a connection point. This split to feed the Womad water filter unit and also a standpipe with tap. As you said, not well signed and did not show up on the Womad site map.
