Happy Birthdays and Full Beaver Moon!

Wishing everyone a clear view of the moon tonight. Here it was bright and beautiful.

Not a bad month for me. No problems at work. Guy is happy muddy and healthy. I had a nice weekend in Chicago as you may already know from another thread. Not sure I mentioned I did get to meet and greet Stephanie Miller,John Fugelsang, Margaret Cho, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, and Jill Wine Banks. I didn't get great pictures, because my old smart phone is, well, old. It was a great show. Lots of political humor. It was a perfect retreat from the real world. Walked back to the hotel a little over 3 miles. Hadn't planned to, but felt like walking for a bit before hailing a cab. Well, once I get walking... I was pretty good until about the last 15 minutes, but I did it in about an hour and ten minutes. What made it fun was it being the Saturday before Halloween, so all the young adults were out in costume.

As for my Aunt, she has been having a rough time. She's been sent to rehab twice, and is again in hospital fighting an infection and or a complication from the surgery. I will visit her again this weekend, but have been getting updates from my cousin, her daugher. The worst thing about these setbacks has been that she is not going to survive this in the not so long term, so these setbacks are cheating her of the life she should be having before the inevitable. It's heartbreaking, but have hope she'll get through this bit. We are pretty tough in my family.

My stepfather has finished his first course of treatment. In January we'll find out if the treatment is working. If it is, he will go through another series. So, there will be another moon before we know where that's going.

Here's hoping for a happy full moon to all the Lunartics. May the laughter always run over the tears.

Thanks for the update Zenrider - glad to hear that you're doing ok - and best wishes to your aunt and stepfather. I noticed the perfect roundness of the moon last night, through thin layers of cloud & mist - there's something comforting seeing it up there and knowing that we're all looking at the same moon.
