Yeah... sad news - death always a stone cold surprise. I remember seeing him play at Rivermead in the mid-90s - Ayub and the audience sat on a few bales of hay in the now distant days of hot & sunny Womads - can't remember what that "stage" was called*, but the music and the moment stays with me. Always wondered why he didn't do more with Real World/Womad. Apparently he was originally spotted by RW busking on the London Underground... Feel so mortal.
*Edit - it was called the Village Stage
