The name Franco Battiato wasn't familiar to me at all, but I heard a track of his recently on Late Junction, 'No U Turn' from 1974. It's very familiar, I know I've heard this before, but I can't think where.
Looking of Wikipedia, his back catalogue is huge, as you say Beef.

Thanks for the updates Rendrags - I only know of Battiato because Mrs B is Italian. We've got a handful of albums - would love to hear more but his stuff tends to be expensive and hard to find... Spotify etc?
