Officina Zoe and Maristella Martella in 2017 - I have never danced so much!
Kimmo Pohjonen in 2012 got sounds from his accordion that I didn't think were possible.

2007, Peter Gabriel came on with Daara J. they were doing Lay your hands on me. The crowd the musicians and the mud just worked together to create something beyond the song. Peter said afterwards "NOW follow THAT!" What a moment. ......but I was one of the loonies waving the glow sticks at the front.

I'm glad to hear that DT - for me that was the most awful musical moment of what was an awful Womad for me (the rain and mud, obviously, but in particular, losing my insulin kit and tickets while trying to find a way in on foot into the flooded site) - hijacking Lay Your Hands and turning it into a rap... at least we both remember it... the YouTube clip is giving me flashbacks... Aftet that first weekend at CP I really thought that was it for me and Womad. For me, the highlight of that year came a couple of days before Womad, bumping into Tony Levin in a Bath coffee shop and getting his autograph in ny Bath and Bristol A-Z

So, It was good to be with them & it was my 15 year olds first festival and he was well behaved, he has ADHD and a ridiculous IQ , so it was all good- except the mud. But the mud, OMG a diabetic kit would disappear forever. I’m reminded of the scene in Oliver Twist when Fagan loses his jewel box in the Thames mud.

After agonising whether to go to Womad, which meant going alone, and having never been to a festival before... hammering in my first Womad tent pegs into the baked hard-as-concrete ground at Reading in 1994. I had no idea what a life-changing thing I was doing. Can't imagine how my life would be now if I'd decided not to go.
