Revenge - blood thirsty revenge driven gore fest A strong performance from Matilda Lutz but it tended to go over the top which meant the plot losing creditability

How To Talk To Girls At Parties Crazy from start to finish, very strange but great fun "I told you he's not normal" "I'm an artist!"

You are supposed to watch it knowing it is mocking itself and the genre it represents. I remember when it first came out and seeing the previews thinking what a load of tosh. But have seen it some years later and actually enjoyed the silliness of it all. anyway, will not have a word said about any of the American heroes depicted in the film as I actually lost my heart to one of them (it was the flashing lights in hyper space that did it for me 💕) I wish the review I read had explained it was mocking the genre, I was appalled, feel a bit silly now Not the first or the last time One of the good things about the film was the strong equality theme other films are just catching up on. Think about it, men and women showering together without anyone trying to rape anyone, holding a fairly normal conversation, no one gawking, grabbing and such. Women pilots/soldiers and no one bats an eye. There were things about it that weren't totally crazy. OK, the serve in the military to get extra rights, that's a bit much. That said, common, you don't think eventually we'll all have American accents. American accents are merely derived from mostly Europe anyway. Some of ours a bit boring, though the nice people I was talking to on the ferry back from the Shetlands did seem quite taken with the way I pronounce Chicago.

I know some of you like going to film festivals, soooooo...if any of you happen to be at the Sheffield Doc Fest and happen to watch this at it's first or second ever public screening.
Please let me know what you think. I'm supposed to get the DVD eventually, but would love to hear thoughts from others. This is one of the very few Kickstarter projects I've ever supported, and the only one that I don't have any regrets for. I also, probably contributed a bit more than I should have, but I have a nice knitted dragon (Yevaud) on my couch telling me it's OK.

Oddly, I think Australian is catching on faster, certainly over here. It is so fashionable to now end a sentence with a rising inflection so as to sound to the English ear like a question is being asked. It is sad that our accents are disappearing ho hum

You know how Americans say Berkeley and we say Berkeley (ok Barkley). The American pronouncing is the more correct as this dates back to the war of independence whereas the British pronounciation was the one that changed since then. We know this because the word Burk derives from the rhyming slang Berkeley Hunt. That is why we call someone a burk and not a Bark.

To be honest I don't think I have ever seen a film where men and women shower together and the men try to rape the women, nor have I ever been made aware that it happens in reality.

Just back from watching Dead Pool 2. Bigger better swearier violenter and funnier than Dead Pool 1. If liked DP 1 then you will love DP 2, the only problem is you have to keep paying full attention throughout the film or you will miss a lot of subtle jokes.

We know this because the word Burk derives from the rhyming slang Berkeley Hunt. That is why we call someone a burk and not a Bark. Took me awhile to realize Bicester was pronounced Bisster, or would that be Bisstr? There are people in some, mostly southern, regions of America that pronounce wash as warsh. I've never been able to figure that one out. I understand not pronouncing all of the letters (sort of), but adding sounds that aren't there at all I just don't get. In the northeastern/New England states you can find people that sound somewhat British. In Canada, and some states, you can hear a bit of the Scottish influence with aboot, instead of about and such. Otherwise, like the rest of the world, there are regional accents, though many, like mine, are more generic than others. Da Chicahgo Bears. Just say ah.
