Not sure of the song, but listening to 60 North radio, Shetland. Also, frogs, crickets, dogs barking, distant road noise, the fire crackling, and the occasional mosquito buzzing in my ear.
Almost time for marshmallows. π

Some politicians should listen to this too. It's a great song, whichever war you're fighting - past, present or future

Been talking to Beef in the Peter Section of the forum, thought I'd bring the video over here. As I'm giving Peter's new, actually new song another listen. It is reflective of where we are in the world. His voice is still clear and strong. It's reminiscent of old Genesis. It definitely has to be listened to more than once. I have a feeling I will like it better in the context of the whole album. An album whose release date has yet to be revealed. Common, Peter, haven't you played with us enough for the last two decades?

This track has really been haunting me since I first heard it a couple of weeks ago. In the lyrics I love the dedication of time and constant vigilance required in our hardest endeavours to follow a good path.

Accidentally bumped into this track the other day... can't stop hearing it... even when I'm not listening to it...

Have we really listened to no music of any significance since...? I've not had the chance to listen to much actually - not had the time, energy or headspace. But Leonard Cohen has been playing in my head a lot, along with Depeche Mode, for some reason... and a lot of Shane Macgowan, but that's for another day.

Managed to actually get through a whole CD today - a Christmas present, a tribute to Jackie Leven, who I only ever saw once - at Womad in the mid-90s. I remember being tired, laying on the floor in the Rivermead Centre, and falling asleep with my rucksack for a pillow. When I woke up, Jackie was gone, and through my gig-going laziness and his early death, I am sad to say I never saw him again... a largely overlooked poetic songwriting genius who sang from his Celtic soul about the human condition. It had been an incredible double-bill at Womad with David Thomas of Pere Ubu, who was hypnotically strange and wonderful. Here's a track I enjoyed this morning from the tribute CD.
