Well, I enjoyed that last night! Some cracking lines in it and a good introduction to our new Doctor I might give it another watch tonight to take it in properly Right. Just watched it again. Brilliant! Although I probably should have watched it with a cup of tea and a fried egg sandwich

I watched Dr Who last night - it was brilliant, wasn't it! - just loved the way she grabbed the welding mask and made her own curvy Sonic Swiss Army thingy (no knives) and enjoys fried egg sandwiches - I saw a lot of David Tennant in her facial expressions and movement. I'm sure I would have spent some time playing with my boobies and exploring my famale body after so much time being a male though - there's bound to be a WTF moment when she discovers her willy is missing! Great start to a new Doctor and a new series - well written and it feels like we're off!! Oh, and the new /old theme music and visuals.......retro feel.. back behind the sofa!

Just watched episode 1 on iplayer, it was surprisingly good (I left Dr Who with my childhood so haven’t watched it for 40 odd years). Anyway, will watch episode 2 later 😀. Hmmm maybe I’m entering my second childhood phase of life 😀😀😀

Episode 2 - Good fun, but I’m a little confused. Hate to split hairs ........... but, 1) When they materialised in space, why didn’t they instantly either freeze or boil? 2) When they materialised in space why didn’t all their cell structures explode due to the change in pressure? 3) Everything was dead on the planet so why where the hills green and shrub like? 4) there were 3 suns and so you would expect small triangulated shadows, but when all three Suns were in front of them they had clear shadows running to the side of them! How does that work? 5) They told us twice that the atmosphere was toxic, but no one wore or asked for breathing apparatus, why? Mrs SC said I was being arsehole and just go with it 😀

Unbelievable, and the bbc expect us to swallow all this baloney! Did anyone else notice how they were supposed to have jumped from earth to be scooped up by a space ship before getting dumped on some alien planet with no form of space travel available. And yet Bradley Walsh on no less than five separate occasions was able get back to a studio and host The Chase on itv. As I said, unbelievable. For me it was Patrick Troughton who was the best of the doctors, right up until he got skewered by a falling church lightning rod in the Omen. At least that was believable, validated by scientific knowledge and understanding

Always irritated that Dr Who was always swanning around space/time, meddling in the fight against evil, but then in certain stories "couldn't" intervene because it would change the future - eg Genesis of the Daleks (Tom Baker) and "Rose" (Christopher Ecclestone).

it is a kids show (big and small)
we miss the profound moral dilemmas, The Doc agonising over killing off the daleks before they started had a massive impression on Del as it opened his young mind to the deeper questions about war, life and death

You've got it! That is exactly what it is all about! ..... and having a bit of fun with your own sonic screwdriver, fez and tardis mug, and your own favourite Doctor.........favourite companion and the odd fried egg sandwich..... and the necessary suspension of reason..... and the singing along with the theme tune.. and avoiding the next week' spoilers.... Enjoy!
