Episode 2 - Good fun, but I’m a little confused. Hate to split hairs ........... but, 1) When they materialised in space, why didn’t they instantly either freeze or boil? 2) When they materialised in space why didn’t all their cell structures explode due to the change in pressure? 3) Everything was dead on the planet so why where the hills green and shrub like? 4) there were 3 suns and so you would expect small triangulated shadows, but when all three Suns were in front of them they had clear shadows running to the side of them! How does that work? 5) They told us twice that the atmosphere was toxic, but no one wore or asked for breathing apparatus, why? Mrs SC said I was being arsehole and just go with it 😀 For me Dr Who lost its realism & scientific validity after Jon Pertwee left in the mid-70s - it's been increasingly nonsensical ever since. Exactly! - here, I've kept a space for you on the sofa

Exactly! - here, I've kept a space for you on the sofa It's Doctor Who, it's best not to think too hard about it all. Of course, perhaps they just meant dead of animal life. As far as reality in scifi, hard as they may try to be as real as they can, some details can be lost. After all, when someone made plans of the USS Enterprise (Star Trek) it was noticed much as they put a lot of thought into the design they had left out one really important thing...TOILETS! It's best to remember it's TV entertainment and it's not real. Oh wait, gotta go, I hear the Tardis materializing out back.

Just watched tonight's episode on the iPlayer (the F1 race was at around 7pm tonight). That was quite moving, and a powerful look at what is all too recent history. A couple of problems with it that I won't go into here until folk have had a chance to watch it, but overall, I'm still happy with it

Well, over here I got to see the first episode with you all, but I think we may be a week behind you now. Or maybe it's just the On Demand feature, which is not entirely on demand. On the other hand, there was a time we were a season or two behind you, so a week is not too bad.

Watched it on the iPlayer again after the pub (another F1 race on this evening)... Not entirely sure watching it before going to bed was such a good idea! However, that was really bloody good Doctor Who!

we like the digs at pro gun culture and the Trump like bad guy
there are a few things that we are not sure about
how long will it take for the new Doctor to get use to being the Doctor and really settle into her new skin
we are also wondering if the way the new Doctor relates to the other characters, especially the bad ones has changed. When a male Doctor challenged someone the tended to take a step back but so far the new female Doctor has had number of characters almost ignore her challenge (time travelling criminal and bossy american).
