never really be a fan of Prince but there was no doubt he was a very talented musician and always did things his way which you simply had to respect
what we find more sad is that he died in his mid fifties which is way too young

What a waste of talent, too young, too soon. Watched this last night, forget the rest, just watch Prince from around 3.30

So sad to think that star performers of the 1980's are now been taken. First Michael Jackson, now Prince. (Okay, Mel from Mel and Kim as well, and probably many others as well)
Don't own any Prince stuff myself but have lot of respect for the guy and what he did musically. I am more intrigued to check out Prince's back catalogue than many other stars from that era save maybe Tom Waits

If you are going to start somewhere start there

As we age so do they. It is a sad loss and too young. SNL did a nice tribute for him last weekend, though some apparently feel it was too soon to rebroadcast old Prince and Beyonce satire spots they did on the show. I think some people don't understand that humor helps the healing process for a lot of us. A highlight was this show was from a cast party after SNL's 40th anniversary show.
In Prince's words, though not on this clip: "Dearly Inebriated..."

One more thing I found perusing Lin's Bin. I wasn't a huge Prince fan, though I did enjoy a lot of his music and had an appreciation for his talent and passion for music. Kind of wish I had seen him the year he was at the United Center just before Peter was on his Back to Front tour. Which I may or may not have mentioned before, talking to one of the security guards. From the instructions the guard was given prior to Prince showing up, he was expecting a totally different person to the one he met, in a very positive way. As for Prince, he always seemed somehow fragile to me. Lin Brehmer reflects on the first time he saw Prince live. wxrt.cbslocal.com/2016/04/21/that-time-prince-almost-stepped-on-my-fingers-lin-brehmer-reflects-on-seeing-prince/

Nice touch by the beeb to show a collection of Prince Songs on the red button this week including Gregory Porter performing Purple Rain on Later only this week
Apparently Sinead O'Connor is now refusing to perform Nothing Compares to U live as she can no longer emotionally relate to it
