I'm so bored with all this pandering to obsessive-nostalgic box-set collecting freaks. I keep hoping it's over, but it keeps happening so it must be a good earner. How much more can be milked out of albums recorded 30+ years ago that have been released, re-released, remastered and re-packaged to death?

Yeah, I'd really been hoping it would be different this time, but perhaps not. I'm starting to think the Chicago Cubs have a better chance of winning the World Series this year, then Peter releasing an album this year. Was really hoping Peter would get his act together before the end of this month, or at the very least the end of this year. And yes he must be making a lot of money from re-releases ad nauseum. You're right, evidently enough people jump on the pre-purchase bandwagon to keep him more interested in his old music, producing new musicians, than doing anything new himself. I have a small house, so no room for extensive box collections here. Thus, I am truly his worst fan, though still a fan. As it seems, unless he surprises us and releases before the end of Oct, I will have to be a fan of his old unmastered music, eternally patient, and should he ever decide to release something new, well, it better be the best damn music he's ever produced.

I got talking to someone at Womad this year and said something similar to what we're discussing here - the conversation got a bit awkward - I think I caused some offence by being honest. . . #overtoyouPG

Well, I give up. Predicting the release of Peter's next album is like predicting the end of the world. Plenty of new predictions to take place of the passed ones, but no one really knows. Figured between the Super Lunar Eclipse and two planetary alignments I figured October was a good bet. Of course, that's why I don't gamble often or a lot. The year is not over, but my guesses are.

Can you imagine what it must be like for his kids. . . in the back of the car
"are we nearly there yet?" "yep, just around this bend. . . ." "you keep saying that!" "no, last time it was a corner, this time it's a bend" "how much longer. . ." "hang on. . . I just need to check the tyres and refill the screen wash" etc etc etc. . . oh a mini mart! "sorry kids, I forgot my wallet. . ."

Oh, just an idea for PG if he's got a tardis and "two and six pence" in his pocket - when I was about 3 (circa 1970) they had these booths at London railway stations - I remember making a record with my mum once after we visited my grandparents. . . I wonder what I sang?

Yeah, he can use all the hints we can throw at him. Reading about Prince in the news, it's rumored that Prince may have enough unreleased material to fill 100 records. So, Prince may be more likely to put out a new album (or 2 or 3or...) before Peter does.

. . . I just wonder what PG really thinks about all "the emperor's" new stuff nonsense vs milking his increasingly creaky back-catalogue and endless touring of the same for all its worth? Does he just take it for granted that the dumb fans will keep buying those so-called VIP seats, clapping along to Sledgehammer and getting excited about the occasional overpriced box set? And what if they don't?

I still wonder if he's afraid to? It is strange, as he's hinted and hinted, teased and teased, not just fans, but even some radio stations. Sigh. Perhaps after his jaunt with Sting he'll finally feel comfortable enough to release the damn thing already. I still suspect it's been ready for years now, and maybe even has several other albums at the ready. He certainly has had enough time to, but he just can't stop fussing with the play order and album order.
Maybe they can do this instead?

I've got a vague (45 years later!) that it never played when we got home. . . it was fun making it though, I remember. I kind of prefer that to it being just lost, as most things seem to be.
