I'm bumping this, because I'm thinking it might just be this year. Last week WXRT had him as featured artist again and he seems to be getting extra play time. Could be they are just rediscovering him for themselves, but yeah, I don't think so...somethings up.

Well, that would be a nice surprise Zenrider - but hasn't he just been touring in recent(10?(!)) years? Maybe that wasn't PG on stage and all the time he was secretly recording in a badger set. . . a triple album of badger-based songs using mud, fur and insect bodies instead of the usual gear. . . in fact PG was really a badger all along. . . how can anyone expect a badger to release an album in a hurry?

He hasn't toured that much since the last album he released. I'm thinking he's got several albums ready to be released at his leisure. Probably a few for his heirs to release even.

Growing Up, Still Growing Up, New Blood/Scratch My Back, Year of Interesting Things, Back to Front - each tour seemed to take up a year or two - I know there were gaps but still - it seems a lot to me. . .

OK, I wasn't really counting the scratch my back stuff. Much as orchestrating the orchestra stuff was work, the base of the songs already existed. As for the reciprocated album, well, that was mostly for the other artists to work on. Can't help but have a feeling he's got plenty stuff just waiting for him to give the go-ahead to be released, at the very least one full album. I just remember him saying something right before he changed his website and dumped the forum, which had me thinking this fall is going to be when. I just wish I could remember more specifically what Peter said and where he said it, so I could narrow down the likely date better.

I Don't know Zenrider - PG was always mumbling about "new stuff". . . I probably stopped listening - but I was referring to the touring, not the recording. I'm sure there's more money in touring & expensive box sets than new stuff. And I think the recording of SMB was relatively fast because of the expense of hiring an orchestra for an extended amount of time. . . that album would have costs millions at PG's usual slowness!
But I don't understand - if you think PG had album(s) at the ready, why would he wait for year after year to release them?

LOL, Beef, you are right about the speed Peter works, but it doesn't mean he doesn't work. I just have hunches, based on things Peter has said here and there, but not hard facts. Much as he has been busy promoting new young artists releasing on his label and his so many other projects and causes, I don't think he is able to not create new music of his own. I can't help but think he has an album ready, but for whatever reason he's waiting until just the right moment to release it. Or perhaps he's distanced himself from it, before taking a final listen to see if his perfectionist self is ready to accept that it's as good as it's gonna get. Although I think he's done that already and is just waiting for the date he picked to release it on to come up. Now, whether he'll announce before that date and have presales and stuff, or if he'll just spring it on us all of a sudden, that I'm not sure about. I'm actually kind of hoping he'll just spring it on us all of a sudden.
Frankly, sometimes I think he just likes messing with us and testing the limits of our patience.... Yeah, probably not. As it is, I get busy in my own things, so I do forget that I'm supposed to be upset that he hasn't released promised/hinted at album, that isn't just a rework of old work in a very long time. I really don't take it personally. Since I'm not on Facebook and he closed his forum, I would think he has no idea I even exist on the planet. Anyway, I do enjoy hearing him on the radio more than I have in a long time, and being on WXRT they do explore some of his works that you will never hear on any other radio station. Which gives me hope that album may be coming and hopefully it will make us forgive him for the long wait.
