I think PG was struggling to finish Up even. . . god knows why he kept going on about I/O. . . I Grieve, Signal to Noise and I think Burn You Up had been knocking around for quite a while before Up. It seems PG only gets things done when there's some outside influence - most "recently" Ovo, the orchestral stuff with John Metcalfe etc, he runs into the buffers alone. Maybe Sting will sting him into action. . . a Police covers album with a band of Bonobo apes?

. . . I was thinking the same thing. . . seems a bizarre way to schedule releases. . . hope he hasn't written a song about himself! I think it's part of what I don't like about the I'm Amazing release - a song is a song - worth hearing - or not. Most songs which become topically significant take on that significance independently of the song or singer. . . not an assumed significance from the singer.
