hotdrummer The Reading sinks! Miss them and the showers, the hippie fly pitchers, vodka jelly man, 70's man with his paddling pool and chopper bike, the hay bale bar and general mayhem after dark and yes, THE DRUMMING, although there was some at one of the African stalls this year. Oops, sorry - went really off topic for some reason then.

But PD these were at CP. but I miss the communal showers too and yes the late night drumming at chai chapel. They don't even go to Oye anymore. I do have a few clips which I should put on YT of small hours drumming with those amazing multicultural happenings. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be😂

We were camped nearby one of the sinks (same one as you, I think Hotdrummer, thoug we never met); there was a big lion there too; think it was a one off to promote ater campaign in Africa, if I remember rightly. Yes, fab; very handy and lovely to share "water cooler" moments with fellow toothbrushers and potwashers - would like to see them return

Have to say the water points both on the site and in the arena this year were the best models and best sited of all years; half a dozen people could use at once, the ground didn't get bogged beyond use and they didn't create queues - excellent!

I was working at a festival - (It was a legal rave) and all the camping had sinks with little pumps to pump the waste into storage tanks, it is easy to do Womad just dont want to.

I think lots of things pass into history due to consultation with accountants. If there are sinks then less people will want all that ladida stuff and if we can wash our dishes then we won't eat as much with the traders. Like a line in a Tom Petty song ' how much you'll pay for what you used to get for free'. ( note: delete the'for' for real English)
