Oh no - if we've got chairs & laysacs, we like to "set up camp" right at the back - more room for the kids to run about/get in & out/ keep an eye on them/dancing....
If I'm heading for the front, it's just me. (& if I'm at a festival on my own without kids, my backpack)
Interesting because there is an "angry torch & pitchfork mob" on other festival (non-Womad) forums that have a unnatural hatred of laysac users.

Yep, at Womad, some of the camps are amazing set ups, seen, fridges, sofa's, out door cookers (hate to call the gas fired things Barbecues), fairy lights (Calndel), pergolas etc etc. Some of us are past roughing it

I would add we don't take a sofa, just inflatable matrices (two singles so that Mrs SC isn't thrown off every time I get on ), camping stove (tea and coffees) two fold up chairs and a fold up table. All left at camp obviously and a wind break to add a little privacy

I take a Trangia stove and cafetiere (plastic) so I can have a coffee first thing to wake me up enough to go in search of fried food.

Have invested in a small gazebo, just to have a dry area to sit cook eat and chill if it happens to rain. All invited to shelter if space allows.

Sleeping kit takes priority over cooking - I like to be comfortable & warm! we currently have air beds but am VERY tempted by camp bunks... (AND they convert into a SOFA! )
Yes it does mean more kit to carry... but...
How flat is the campsite? I imagine they'd be useless on a slope!
Anyone else use campbeds?

Site is quite level, just the distance to lug your kit over. Carts are available to hire but I always think they look more hassle than they are (what is wrong with a little extra walking). There is also the mini train service for carrying camping equipment.
