Many thanks to all those who posted photos and links - it's been great looking through them and keeping the Womad memories alive. I only have my cheap phone with me at Womad for photos, and usually end up with a small number of rather crappy photos, which are too embarrassing to post - I specialise in the 'blurred photos of artists with peoples heads in the way' category. But here's an example of one of the Grit Orchestra - no prizes for guessing the owner of the head! And a bit of my hat in the corner!

But here's an example of one of the Grit Orchestra - no prizes for guessing the owner of the head! Unless you're a professional (or a very competitive amateur), photos are about keeping the memories alive, so don't worry about blurred photos with heads in the way - just post them! Having said that, WOMAD is fortunate to have a number of very good photographers who post their best photos in the Flickr group every year, and looking at what they achieve has enabled me to improve my own photos. (If any are reading this, a personal thanks to Stuart Madeley, Inyathi, Sally Walton, Kenny Mathieson, Nina Ali, "Dorsetbays", and the other regulars for inspiring me. To anyone else, look out for their photos on flickr). Yes - just post your pics, don't worry about heads, you are capturing a moment and the atmosphere! We all enjoy all the photos. We used to lug all our heavy kit around with us to try to get top quality images; now we just take little cameras and take what appeals to us. Thanks for the mention, Gareth -Steve and I are "Dorsetbays".
