Black Star I think is the only 'new' album I got around to buying last year. Not that I might not have bought others, I just don't buy albums (OK, CD's) like I did as a kid. I did to pick up ONXRT 18. Which is a compilation of songs sung live at Chicago area WXRT shows, so the bast of some of the talent that passes through Chicago. Sadly, they mostly sell those locally and some they did offer through Target Stores online sold out pretty much right away. If not, I might have thrown a link to it at the Pub. I just wish I had started buying them sooner then a few years ago.

For me I have no real doubt as to the most inspirational album I have heard this year, ok it probably is older than a year, but I first heard it towards the end of 2016 and found it to be an extremely inspirational album. Teaching that as we are only certain that we will get one go on this hamster wheel of life, if you want to do something, then do it!
The album?

Not bought a huge amount in 2016.
The one clear standout is Sara Watkins - Young in all the Wrong Ways. Also she was gig of the year. Other mention to the ever reliable Stray Birds, Magic Fire was a good album to. Came out in 2014 but purchased this year by me, Olcay Bayir's Neva. A delight.
