I must have a think about popping over for at least one of these days. It's only a short(ish) rail trip from Sunny Buxton, although I would have to leave before the end if I was to get the last train home...

Good line-up so far, just hope it doesn't rain this year. I might bring a small tent for the park if Mags and Paul invite me again

EVEN MORE! added today Daby Toure (Mauritania) Black Prophet (Ghana) Jamaican Reggae act usual close on Sunday night so I reckon J Marley has that sorted but interesting to see if Jupiter or Mokoomba get Saturday night. Both are superb.

What a great weekend at Africa Oye. Flag cracking sunshine. Lots of great music. Especially enjoyed the local samba band, Daby Toure, Dobet Gnohore, Jupiter and Okwess and lots more. Not mad about the rappers must say. The bars were much better with lovely cider and not expensive. Bravo Liverpool. See you next year. Next weekend is Dent and the bhundu boys are playing on Sunday as is Nick Harper son of Roy. Another freebie so I'll be contributing via the bar 🍾

Full on sunshine for both days and the highlight once again goes to Jupiter & Okwess International who were A MAZE ING!!!! Low point was poor Purpledawn who had the trots from early hours Sunday which meant she had to sit out Sunday in our house and miss out on Jupiter, She wasn't happy after missing them previously at Oye and Womad. Hope your back and feeling better Purple.

Just discovered that Jupiter is on the line-up for Shambala along with a lot of other great stuff, so all is not lost, (apart from the suspect Senegalese chicken).

Did anyone catch Andy Kershaw's tea time set on the Saturday! Caught the start but he was having technical problems and looked totally confused so only stayed for a couple of tunes and drifted to the beer tent. Purpledawn.... Hope you get to see Jupiter and Okwess at Shambala, Ive been checking out the lineup and its rammed with stuff I don't know but would deffo check out BKO Quintet. ENJOY and I hope you get some current bun.
