Decided to make this thread available in the other sections for now, given we may get a real album soon. Good idea! Could we figure out a moon-based countdown, to predict the album's release date? I have no idea. Unless we are only getting 4 or 5 new songs on IO, I'm not sure it works for releasing the album before the tour. Especially, if he plans to release each song individually first and only one, but two versions of it a moon cycle. Not sure what Pete's ultimate marketing ploy is in all of this, but I guess an album is inevitable, and we've waited this long...

I'm starting to think we are only going to get 4 or 5 songs on this album, with 2 or 3 different versions of each song. With most listeners not being able to note much of a difference between them. petergabriel.com/news/new-atmos-mix-puts-you-in-side-the-music/ Looking forward to hearing this album, but tired of the release being a strung out mystery. His fans, Especially, old diehard fans may be OK with this. Not so sure about younger fans, and gaining new fans this π€¨ Hoping he has another regular album waiting in the wings.

I hope not Zenrider - surely he can manage more than a glorified EP after 20 years... I wouldn't mind this so much if Pan was just a single from the album, with different versions, or if the different mixes came out like this after I/O... but to think that this is going to be repeated with each track before the release is... beyond tedious... what is he thinking? I'm worried that it's all just contrived as a way to milk the stupidly patient and loyal fans (myself included). But I'm still not listening to any of it until the "album" is out.

Oh blimey... I can't bear this dripfeed .. he's doing it on purpose, isn't he? Can't think of a more tortuous way to end a 21 year wait...

I know lunatics who have posted on here many times who are not going to the concerts based on both ticket prices and the drip feed. I need to listen to PG albums several times before I fully appreciate it. Ticket prices are worthy of another thread, but they are largely set by Live Nation etc. and I see a VIP ticket for Springsteen is about the same as one for PG.

Don't even get me started on Ticket Master/Live Nation. I'm not going to a few concerts, because of their pricing manipulations. Tickets selling for 3, 4 or more times than ticket price, not because a scalper is reselling them, but because they've determined that is what the demand is. Thankfully, the venue Mavis was performing at doesn't use Ticket Master. Unfortunately another venue I really like does, and has priced me out of a couple of concerts. I suppose as long as they can sell out shows at overinflated prices and get tickets to scalpers, which allows them to inflate tickets even higher, they will continue to use Ticket Master. Ticket Master undoubtedly loves their favorite scalpers who seem to get the lions share of tickets, because they get to double dip on the whole thing. As for me, I'll wait until an hour or so before the concert and maybe get a ticket they are desperate to dump.

Best bet is just to turn up on the night and find someone in the queue with a spare ticket to sell. Anyway, just had a look at prices for the London O2 - and these are not resales - cheapest Β£93, most expensive Β£427+. Probably fairly standard, but also fairly ridiculous. As long as there are enough idiots willing to pay... that rules me out on at least one count...

Well, Peter is resurrecting the Full Moon Club, but it will cost 3 pounds a month. I'm on the fence, but curious. It does seem it comes with 'free' downloads of his new music and such, so might be worth it. petergabriel.com/news/full-moon-club-subscription/

So I opted for the being ripped off option... so far there have been extra updates from PG, 3 versions of each of the two tracks released so far and 3 Back to front encore 'bootlegs'. So I guess it's fair value so far... and being on Bandcamp you can listen and download in a variety of file formats.

I'm curious to know if when you subscribe affects what content is available?

I'm curious to know if when you subscribe affects what content is available? I haven't bit yet. Been kind of busy. Much as I would have loved to have brought my very old truck back up to speed, I decided to get a newer used truck. It's really hard to find a mechanic that not only can work on the old truck's engine, but wants to. Pretty much obliterated my savings, having serious buyers remorse, definitely means I may never be able to do WOMAD again anytime soon, but it was probably still the smarter thing to do, if I want to be able to use my camper, especially for Bonnaroo.
