Hmm, no bandstand this year that I can see and the fairground seems to be spread out rather than all in one place.

Aw - no bandstand.............. where shall we arrange the forum meet then? Just outside the entrance to the Golden Lion, where the bandstand was last year?

jax2000 , the fairground is a nuisance when you have little ones with limited pocket money, especially with the token system. At least it's still at the far end of the festival so can be avoided.  Hurray for removal of the bigger bottlenecks! We had a child in a double bike trailer to contend with so I hope Womad have taken into consideration that there are also folks using wheelchairs and mobility scooters who were probably excluded from some of the bottleneck areas. I thought it was dangerous last year, but I expect it's improved this year. Fingers crossed

Purpledawn, they appear to have moved the ferris wheel and some fairground rides to around the Golden Lion though. I think it's better all kept in the one place...to avoid if you want to.

Hummm, think the jury is still out on this one. Seems a lot more space given to merchandise no food, including a massive section which covers the entire area where the main arena used to sit. On the other hand it may just have been rearranged to give more space in front of the main stage 😏 Could be better.
You know what, there is a Ferris wheel and rides but no steam fair! Have Womad and Carter's steam fair parted ways? Womad do seem to be investing in attractions, like a spa and the train, which benefit their own coffers. In the long run. Have they sourced rides which are more suitable for a world festival (i.e. Quieter) and less demanding on parents pickets? Hopefully so, but I will miss not having the wall of death back and have been taking a stack of old pennies should the slot machines make a comeback

looks like the siam tent has been moved slightly and the real ale tent will be at the far end and not at it's side which leaves a odd gap between the main stage and the siam
there does seem to be more room around the main stage but in width and not depth
also spreading out the steam fair may not be a bad idea, it might not be for everyone but there is nothing like a late night go on dodgem when you are half cut
does anyone know what the chief school is?

So many questions to be answered, possibly not until 2pm on the 27th July (I wonder how many days away that is?).
It is now Womad water, have Womad and Frank water gone their separate ways?

Frank Water's website confirms that Womad is not on their confirmed festivals this year. What a shame. Let's hope that Womad Water offers as good a service! 💧
