Mrs SC is asking if there is WiFi at Womad. I thought there was but I can't see any mention of it on the Womad site. Anyone any idea?

There has been for the past couple of years or so. The app does say there's wifi on the site.

Need wi fi for the app to work. In past years seems to work ok when there is less demand, like Thursday and middle of the night but slows right down during the day. Maybe it will be boosted this year to give stronger signal through the festival.

There is, but it can be a tad unreliable. There looks to be good 4G coverage too

They do install extra masts for mobile signals and wifi
But it not great coverage and get worse when the site is busy so best to get on line first thing in the morning

It also says Free access to the World of Children which includes free workshops but I somehow suspect that I will not be allowed to join the flag making or campfire cooking for kids sessions.

Ooh... I remember the pre-mobile, pre-www.com days when Womad was at Reading in the early 90s and there were just a couple of public phones in the Rivermead leisure centre, which came with a free half-hour queue if you really wanted to reach the outside world...
