Thankfully the fan vote is not all that will get a nominee in. After all, popular and worthy are often not the same thing. OK, they let KISS in... to any KISS fans. So, here's a link to the vote page. Some very worthy people here and you get to vote for 5 total, but common, let's get Kate up in the polls. www.rockhall.com/fan-vote/2018-fan-voteYou can vote daily if you like. I don't know when the voting ends and the nominees are selected, so get on it.

Lots of worthy musicians here, but these are my choices this year. It certainly doesn't mean I don't love some of those I didn't vote for, but if Bon Jovi makes it in before Kate Bush, we know the Earth is truly doomed.

Nina Simone isn't already in? Now if that doesn't speak volumes .................. Well, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has only been doing this for 33 years and until recently, very much more Male focused. Which may explain why so many women have been eligible for more than a decade, a few even longer, that have just been found worthy. Common Rock and Roll, don't let all the women die before they are inducted. I'm not sure who my favorite class would be this year, because a couple of them are pretty close in my choices. Kate Bush and Sister Rosetta Tharpe are pretty much on the top of my list for this year. There are some I would vote for more in following years. Kate's induction would be the only reason for me to make a trip to Cleveland.

I think there was or is some award for that, an album that lasted 30 years. If so, I can not see why NS is not in already. Not heard of "Common Rock and Roll" is that an insult or a genre? what do you mean ..... they don't let all the women die? A musician is a musician, what the hell has their sex got to do with it? Sorry but genuinely confused (through my own ignorance) by your response, it just seems to confirm my original statement Your sex, race, colour, sexuality, politics has NO bearing on your influence or genius in music. ...... just saying'

Well, originally it was intended to induct people, musicians, bands, singers that influenced rock and roll. Either by doing something different or at the least outstanding. Which is why many of us, may say, yeah, they had some entertaining songs, but what did they really do? Having a larger fan base, should not be the ultimate decider, yet it looks as though Bon Jovi will be inducted before Kate, and that is just wrong on so many levels. There are many people that will tell you Kate Bush was an inspiration to their music. You are not likely to find many that feel the same of Bon Jovi. Sure, they may like some of their songs, but as far as inspiring others music, not as likely. However, that is my opinion, and perhaps there are those that feel the other way around. Others may miss the point of a Hall of Fame and vote for who they feel is more relevant in the now, missing the whole point entirely. Which is what has left Sister Rosetta, Nina and so many other women forgotten for so long. When it turned into a popularity fan contest, it's hard for those that were marginalized for their efforts so long ago, to be remembered and recognized in the now. It would be amazing to see who would perform for Sister Rosetta and Nina and even Link Wray. Am also amazed this is the first nomination for The Moody Blues. Other than that, several I like equally, so have to go with who should have been nominated long ago.
I have to stick with Kate Bush as the person I would most like to see inducted sooner than later. I find unbelievable that has only just been nominated this year, as so many other famous artists have mentioned her as a big influence on their own work.

Something is very very wrong, when J Geils Band is pitched as the same level as Nina Simone. The whole thing just seems to be just a Corporate Commercial pretence and should be treated as such. No greater than Coke and MacDonalds. If KB wins it she should refuse it. She is not USA, the whole thing is for the USA market, don't play their game ............................ Just saying............... J Geils Band.another kind of smiley? I'm trying to remember where I saw them, I thought it was 3rd support to Bob Marley and Crystal Palace 1980, but the internet says "No" ................. "My Baby she's a centre fold ....... Na nah de nah nah" ......................................... No no no no How can that be worthy?

It is for the fans to be sure, but I'd be disappointed if Kate didn't accept.
To be sure some of the more recent additions have definitely been more about money made, than music that influences. However, money is what pays the bills.
Blues, early Country and, Folk music were the base Rock of all sorts grew from.
As it is, I'm the person who understands why ABBA is in, but wonders why they caved into for the KISS fans that demanded they be inducted. However, I'm sure others feel otherwise.
As for the induction process, could definitely be better, and perhaps give people like Nina and Sister Rosetta their due in a much better and more timely fashion.

I was just looking on Wiki about it and the list of "Performers" Totally understand why Abba is in also, as they revolutionised the Pop Industry at the time, they would have got my vote. Also my wholehearted support goes out to The Sex Pistols reaction, KB should do the same

OK, decided to add a poll after all. Since 6 people will be inducted the FMP Poll is allowing you to choose 6 nominees. The results won't show until it is locked shortly before the official vote is closed on December 5th. So, unless you out yourself, we won't know who exactly voted for whom.
