Glad to have found the Womad forum again! I flicked through the posts but couldn't find this info. Based on previous years, when can we expect the first line up info?

Hi watergirl glad you found us, someone posted about the first announcement date recently, but I can't find it either, pretty sure it's expected either the 3rd or last weekend of Feb. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will post up the expected dates

Welcome back, good to see you! Mikey said history showed it was not long after Womad Chile which is this weekend, so that'll be next week

I have an inkling that it is usually the last Thursday of February.
I've still not got anything in the diary for WOMAD weekend. I must resist.

The Womad Facebook has a new Spotify schedule of ‘acts you never heard of’. Some past veterans of Womad, others are new names. Perhaps there are some clues in there for the 2018 lineup.

Or perhaps it is just to tease us?

If the Spotify playist is offering clues to the 2018 lineup, the presence of Nusrat Ali Farka Toure and Hugh Masekela might need the involvement of Doctor Who and his Tardis. Sadly I don't think this is a realistic prospect.
Roll on the first announcement. Doubtless a few favourites and a few unknown gems.

Songhoy Blues could be due a return, have seen The Dead South are in the Uk over the summer and although we all miss the great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan could there be an appearance by Massive Attack perhaps? we might know more this week.

Massive Attack would be awesome I am convinced that Massive Attack will play the big Hall round the corner from the Bristol Hippodrome when it reopens after refurbishment and renamed in 2020. If so then that will be the most awesome night ever. Until then, would be great to have them at Womad but might be a bit too optimistic to hope for.
